As much as I tried, I couldn't get into this on the PS2. I don't know what it was but I have a feeling I'm just not digging the art style and general personality of anime like this in the way I used to.

I thought after listening to that review 'yeah okay, I might just look into this again'. But then I played the trailer below and dear god, all the reasons on why I can't stand anime anymore came bubbling up to the point where I almost screamed at my screen. Maybe it's got to do with playing nothing but these games through my youth and then discovering how good titles like Half-Life 2 and Bioshock were, titles that I had originally shunned, means I now look at games like this so differently from what I used to.

@Elie S Ducos Some of us just plain don't have room to keep all our old systems piled up forever.  Also, I bought a PS3 on release and it did have backwards compatibility, which Sony removed from later models.  I was fine until the GPU in that console failed and I had to buy one of the models without the reverse compatibility.  Don't forget the PS2 was about as reliable as the first generation of XBox 360s, so you can see why keeping it around didn't seem like a good idea at the time.

I find funny that some ppl want it to be release on PSN !! You Should've kept your PS2 you dumb*** ! The game is like 10 dollars or less on PS2 :) ... I mean PAL PS3 aren't backward compatible, I heard that NTSCs ones maybe are but not sure. Still, everybody should keep their old systems! I really enjoy playing all those really awesome ATLUS rpg's on PS2. Also if you liked P4 and P3 you should try Catherine if you haven't, the themes are really similar and it's a GREAT game

I'm collecting Shin Megami Tensei games! For those who liked P3 and P4 you should really try SMT Devil Summoner 1 and 2 (Raido Kuzunoha vs King Abaddon)... It's almost the same summoning system than P4, set up in a dark noir / mystery 1930's japan world ! Reaaally good.

Persona 4 is indeed awesome.  I personally like Persona 3 better, if you have a Vita, it's a definite buy.  Not worth it if you don't already have Vita though.

The gasp from Jason was so funny! Suddenly I really want this game... If I had a Vita...

I'm still working my way through Person 3 (hey its a long game to) and I'm really loving it. I cant remember the last time an RPG captured my imagination so very well.

Thanks for putting this into a review Professor Jeff.

I want to play this, but I wish they'd release it as a PSN downloadable for the PS3.  I need a little more than this to justify buying a Vita.

I'm glade you liked it so much Jeff. I already played the original P4, but I would like to play this new one. However, I don't have a Vita, and I have such little free time for games, I really would be that 80 year old still playing it if I started now.

But hopefully one day I will get it.
