Decided to watch a movie last week, really intended to go see the hurt locker but the showing was later then I really wanted to wait for, so I went for a different limited indie release. Paper Heart.
Paper Heart is a quasi documentary type film basically Charlyne Yi a young comedian goes with a camera crew to find out what love means, she doesn't quite understand or believe that love exist or at least for her it doesn't.
This is where the movie shines, with great interviews from real people, and their stories being re-enacted in a puppet show. Very funny moments and really touching ones as well.
Then the movie takes a bit of a turn when Charlene meets Michael Cera, and they begin to start going out, I just really didn't enjoy the chemistry between them, Cera brought the Hollywood part of the movie in and no longer fealt real to me, as much as I like Cera i wish someone less known was cast for this role, don't get me wrong there are some humorous moments between Charlene and Cera but the heart of this movie to me were the interviews. Charlyne is amazing in this movie, very cute and very funny I hope to here in a lot more things as time goes on.
Overall Paper Heart was a cute movie with some great laughs, not perfect but worth watching with your better half, or a cool female friend, this is a great date movie.
