English Motherfucker posted a statusStill not entirely sure how I feel about Sam Raimi's 'Oz: The Great and Powerful.' On the one hand, I'm interested to see the world of Oz re-imagined and expanded and, from the posters and trailers revealed so far, the art direction looks amazing. On the other hand, when I saw it on the big screen, I got this unsettling Tim Burton 'Alice in Wonderland' vibe. That being said, I am still really interested in how Raimi's film deals with the Wicked Witch of the West. This latest character poster gives us a good idea of what she will look like. Pretty similar to the original film, if a little sexier. She is set against a backdrop of a swarm of the new flying monkeys, which are infinitely more terrifying than they were before. Take a look at the poster below and let us know what you think.

Comment by Negro on December 19, 2012 at 11:25am Loving the look of the character, was hoping it would be Rachel Weisz playing Theodora, but I guess the Wicked Witch of the West is younger? Very hyped for this film.
Comment by John Price on December 19, 2012 at 11:05am this is going to directly oppose the law set in wicked and i don't think i like that. why couldn't they have made that a movie :(. also i really hate the way oz looks in trailer. from the original movie it seemed to be more of a traditional fairytale land you know a large woods with small villages and a great kingdom and little places scattered about. why is it that every mystical land in movies nowadays looks like it was painted by Salvador Dali high on acid? and i'm a huge Dali saying this. but with all that said i'm a fan of both the original and wicked and many satires and parodies of "the wizard of oz" so i look forward to this none the less.
Comment by ShadowNeverDies on December 19, 2012 at 10:17am From what I can tell from all the promotional material, the wicked witch of the west is played by Mila Kunis so...that's probably her in really good make-up. Interesting to see how she's evil or if it's somehow Oz's fault because from all the trailers she appears to be one of our main heroines in this film. And this looks way better than Tim Burton's Alice which was just kind of meh and uninspired. The whole world never looked like Wonderland just this gray etching with ok representations of the creatures. Also after seeing all the great stuff American McGee has done with wonderland it's hard to see Alice in Wonderland as anything but meh. Sam Raimi's Oz seems colorful and beautiful, and god forbid fun.
Comment by JoeDrifter on December 19, 2012 at 10:03am Looks like Mila's gonna get some makeup when she becomes fully evil as the Wiked Witch.
wow, we really are sexist!.... is that even necessary!?
