DB fans, feist your eyes with this:

So far I've kept myself avoiding to make any kind of comment about the upcoming live action movie of Dragon Ball, mostly because that, despite being a fan of the series for a very long time, I understand that is impossible to ask for a faithful adaptation that won't end being completely ridiculous. Let's face it, Dragon Ball was no Shakespeare, and yet, part of it's beauty was based on that, so, we didn´t mind if 5 minute battles became a 10 episode arc as long as Goku ended the winner and returned home to complain he was hungry. But, if you want to stretch that out from the anime/manga universe, you're bound to get strange looks, bad reviews and angry fans.
As for his Oozaru form, I guess we could take this the same way FF fans had to take Galactus from the last movie, difference is, there's a point where you can buy the whole "giant robot trying to eat the earth", whereas the Oozaru, well, that's a fruit harder to sell, not because it doesn't have a point, but it didn't have a point for fans until much later.
Needless to say I have no real expectations on the movie, that trailer looked like Power Rangers with a bigger budget and actors who sold their dignity -Emmy Rossum, I'm looking at you- Chances for it being good are as possible as Rob Scheneider ever getting an Oscar. Fans won't be pleased, non fans will find it silly, and people willing to give a try won't say is good. Most likely this movie will be directed towards very young kids, and they have the advantage of no Wachowski Bros. to make long boring and confusing exposition montages, so it will be short.
About the picture? It sucks, even if it wasn't in the context of DB, it would still suck.
Anyway.
