For the longest time I thought it was "Nepec" because they used pictures in the title instead of some of the letters.

anyways, i don't care to look up the details, as this is a piece of garbage.

I try not to judge an anime or manga without reading/watching all of it, but i couldn't hold on any longer.

One Piece is the story of a young man who knew a pirate captain in his youth, who was his idol. When the boy, Luffy, grows up, he wants to find the treasure his idol (Captain Rogers) left behind, which is in "one piece"

Who ever finds the One Piece will be titled the king of pirates.

this story has potential, but wait; Luffy eats the "gum gum fruit," a mystical fruit that has a different effect on different people when they eat it. Luffy gains the ability to stretch like an elastic and bounce. Basically his body took on the effects of very flexible, yet extremely durable rubber.

Still, there is some potential here. 

While the story is already sounding ridiculous, if you accept it as a silly story, you would think it would be tolerable; but even silly stories need to have a plot they stick to.

Thus far, 400+ episodes in, the story has yet to get serious, or end, or reveal if Luffy is really any closer to achieving his dream.

furthermore, the story is so very silly, more silly than i think is necessary, to the point that the characters are not relate-able.

Then there is the obscene amount of filler,and while the anime has a fair bit, i also found that the manga has parts which feel like filler.

Which leads me to speculate that the author was asked to extend the series, in order to make it current for a longer time, hence selling more merch.

Just a speculation though.

I stopped reading a while ago, due to the series being absolute shit.

The positive note: the way that Luffy uses his power in different ways i very creative. While i found the story stupid, I did admire the unique uses of a rubber body that i wouldn't have thought of. 

Also, while many people don't like the art style, i thought that it had it's appeal, although it was very simple, using minimal lines. It is simple and clean.

my verdict, don't read this piece of shit, even if you can read it free, you will ever get that time back
