As further proof that in Hollywood sometimes things sound too good to be true, Fox has decided that giving 250 million dollars to Ridley Scott for TWO Alien prequels is simply too much considering he is aiming for a hard R rated movie. Again, two movies, that's 125 million per movie (WTF is the big deal here?).

But I digress, this isn't the first time they are fucking up such a great franchise. The first one was when Fincher was making Alien 3. Their interference was so bad that Fincher has vowed never to make a big budget studio film again. The second fuck up was when Ridley Scott and James Cameron themselves went to FOX to propose a new Alien film. What did Fox do? They made AvP. The point I am trying to make is that every time they decided to interfere with this series, they ruined it. Had it not been for Fox, aliens would have invaded Earth for fuck's sake. Don't believe me? Go watch the fucking teaser.

Anyways, the reason I thought Fox wanted Scott back was because they wanted a film similar to the first one in tone or something. So it begs the question why they have a problem with it now? Also, why start getting cold feet about the budget right now when they already started casting? I guess their decision to sue WB about making a Watchmen movie right after the trailer was released hasn't generated enough hate towards them.

As for what will happen, well let's just say I hope Cameron decides to put that Avatar money to good use.

Fox will only learn once Cameron leaves them and they have to fend for their selves.

If Fox wants to make a Alien movie in their vision why not just do it instead of wasting the time of two great directors.
a FOX STUDIOS film
ALIENS: Electric boogaloo
Directed by Fox Studios, written by Fox studios
