New 'Where the Wild Things Are' Trailer

Source: Latino Review

Check out the full trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures, Where the Wild things Are, directed by Spike Jones.

Where the Wild Things Are was co-written by Jonze and Dave Eggers based on the beloved book by Maurice Sendak and stars Max Records, Catherine Keener, Mark Ruffalo, James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara, Forest Whitaker, Paul Dano and Tom Noonan.

An adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story, where Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper, creates his own world--a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler.

The film comes to theaters October 16th.

When Spike Jonze finishes this I want to see him make a Calvin and Hobbes movie.

To bourgeoisblues
I don't know what the humming song at the beginning, but the happier song in the middle is "Wake Up" by Arcade Fire. It's a re-recorded version for this movie, but the version on Funeral is pretty close.

On a side note, I have to admit that when I first heard this was being made I wasn't just upset, I was fucking furious. So many parts of my childhood were being ripped apart one by one, and then I saw how it was going. This is great, and I really wish more people behind so many crappy movies would wake up and pay attention. THIS is how you make an adaption. Can't wait.

Oh yeah, i know it's gonna win an Oscar for either Art Direction, Cinematography, Best Adapted Screenplay, or if it turns out to be as great as this trailer, Best Picture.

Every line that is said in this trailer, is delivered greatly. Please don't disappoint.

I didn't want to think they were going to not only do justice to a classic, but be capable of making a good movie out of a short book.

I almost shed a tear. The cinematography is beautiful.

@ bourgeoisblues the song is "Wake Up" by Arcade Fire off of their album Funerals... but its a different version then what's on the trailer. Maybe a B side version made for the movie.

does anyone know the name of the song in the trailer?
