In a case of "similar but different", we have trailers from two films: both are titled after the teenaged female lead, both involve a sudden and dramatic change in their lives, but while one film focuses on a young girl bringing innocence to her absentee father's life, the other focuses on a girl slowly losing her innocence.

First up is 'Janie Jones', which stars Abigail Breslin as the daughter of a faded rockstar who is on a comeback tour with his band. His hard living, drug and alcohol filled life in sleazy motels and dive bars eventually drives away all of his band mates and his life is forever changed when a former lover appears and has to leave their teenage daughter in his care. The story is based on the true life events from the writer and director David M. Rosenthal. The film will be in theaters October 28th.

On the flip side of that feelgood coin, 'Margaret' stars'True Blood' actress Anna Paquin as a 17-year old girl who has to deal with her regular life as a conflicted teenager as well as the moral, legal and sexual pitfalls of the adult world. She struggles with what is right and wrong after taking witnessing the seemingly accidental death of a woman and fighting the ever-building guilt resulting from her role in it. The drama will be in theaters on September 30th.

Accorgin to this plot synopsis, Anna Paquin popped out of the vagina and won an oscar for playing a 12 year old girl?

Margaret looks a little over dramatic.

@Sega Mega Drive

It was filmed in 2007...but it still seems like there are plenty of talented actresses in that age group, so why pick an older actress?

Neither film really pulled me in. I have to say the Margaret trailer was very interesting due to the actors showing up unexpectedly.

Mark Ruffalo?...Matt Damon???...MATTHEW BRODERICK!?

What can I say ever since Little Miss Sunshine I've always had a soft spot for Abigail Breslin so I'll probably end up watching it. Margaret looks pretty enthralling, good A tier cast but I couldn't help but crack up when I saw Matt Damon's face, its like someone photoshopped that dude into the trailer.
