New Trailer For 'Parker'
Jason Statham is the latest in a long line of actors to embody author Donald E. Westlake's character Parker. Though the name has been changed here and there, Parker has appeared in numerous films over the years starring everyone from Lee Marvin to Mel Gibson. Having just rewatched 'Payback' the other night, I am suitably jazzed to see another Parker adventure. Enter 'Parker.' The latest trailer for Taylor Hackford's take on Westlake's so-bad-he's-good guy has just landed. I'm hooked. I love the fact that Jason Statham is actually called Parker; not Porter, not Walker...Parker. I am a little concerned that Michael Chiklis also appearing in 'Parker' amounts to too much bald badass for one movie. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

This looks like complete shit, is it a parody or an actual revenge fantasy? Hopefully they go the route of "satire," rather than serious action film because it looks as if it would suck if it takes it self seriously.

There are 24 Parker novels and this new films is based on the 19th novel in the series, "Flashfire". That being said, Jason Statham couldn't be any more wrong for the role. "Payback: Straight Up" (2006), the director's cut, is, so far, the closest thing to the proper representation of the character of Parker. I might watch this film when it comes to video. I'll probably download it.
