New Trailer For P.T. Anderson's 'The Master'
I am incredibly excited for Paul Thomas Anderson's ('There Will Be Blood,' 'Boogie Nights') upcoming film 'The Master.' True, the movie will be devoid of superheroes, mutant turtles, or shape-shifting robots, but Anderson is a filmmaker who continues to create unique and dazzling works of cinematic art that should wow even the most blockbuster-addicted cinephile. His latest film centers on a writer/philosopher in the 1950s (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman) whose faith-based organization lures a troubled WWII veteran (Joaquin Phoenix). Given the details shown in this trailer as to The Master himself, it seems that this film is a thinly-veiled exploration of the life of author/scientology creator L. Ron Hubbard.
