Hector Fernando Andrade JR. II posted a statusYippee Ki-Yay, fellow geeks. Earlier this month, the first teaser trailer for 'A Good Day to Die Hard' crashed onto the internet. There were things to like about it, and there were things that didn't make me feel any better about this fifth installment in the 'Die Hard' franchise. Today, we get a longer trailer that...is slightly more encouraging, but not by much. The setup seems far more in line with a John McClane story than did the last one. The international setting still seems a bit of a stretch to me, but at least the enemy seems worthy of his destructive efficiency as a hero; something that cannot be said for 'Live Free or Die Hard.' I still don't understand why a woman stripping down from a motorcycle suit to her underwear is a centerpiece, but I do like the use of humor in the trailer. I also like that Bruce Willis never seems too old for this s**t as do some of his action movie colleagues. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

I wonder if they will try to tie in a storyline, referencing Simon Gruber's terrorist group of some sort.
Comment by Jay Perry on October 27, 2012 at 3:26pm This movie looks really cool.
I know that die Hard 4 wasn't everyones favorite, but I have to admit it's what got me into the series.
i had never seen the die hard series before, then I saw the commercial with my mother, and I remember how she had a nostalgic laugh when she saw Bruce complaining(you know, that seen where he runs the car into the helicoptor?) and said that's classic John Mcclain. When I got the DH4 dvd, I saw a trailer for the first three movies and was like" I HAVE to see this."
Better late then never right?
Anyway, this movie looks good. I can't wait to see it. :D

Comment by Robert Wild on October 26, 2012 at 4:40pm Well, 4 is critically better than 2 and 3. I normally don't agree with critics, but I have to on this series. I just thought the 4th simply had the better writing and character development. What I do agree with you on is that 4 did have the weaker villain, but he was still ok. And I actually loved the action sequences. I thought they were original, and I have never seen a film before with some of the action from the 4th (but I do agree that the jet scene was WAY to much). But the original Die Hard is still easily the best of the series. And hey, Die Hard 4 is Bruce Willis' personal favorite, and it doesn't help that you couldn't spell McClane right, lol.
On a side note, although we really havn't seen Gary Oldman as a villain in a while, I still think he could pull it off. After seeing Air Force 1, I knew he could be a perfect Die Hard villain.

No way 4 was better than 2 & 3. It did not have that feel of a Die Hard movie. Justin Long couldn't hold a candle as a sidekick to Art Evans and Samuel L. Jackson. Also, the villain was not threatening compared to previous bad guys. McCain got under his skin way too easily in their verbal exchanges. I don't necessarily blame Olyphant since I think he is a good actor but he wasn't given anything to work with. The action scenes might have been big but uninspired. Not saying that parts 2 & 3 are perfect but they are certainly much better than the 4th one.
On a side note, I would have loved to see Gary Oldman play a villain in the series, specially back in the 80's/90's when he was still in his 'bad guy' phase.
Comment by Todd A. on October 26, 2012 at 9:51am Nice! I've enjoyed all the Die Hard films so I've got no problem with them making this if they can keep putting out fun films.
