Today, it revealed a link to a behind-the-scenes video blog from the official James Bond website in which director Sam Mendes tells us all about his personal relationship with Bond and what made him decide to participate in the character's cinematic legacy. It's interesting to see Mendes on set, and I have a feeling this video blog will be the first of many. Take a look at the vlog below and let us know what you think.
'Skyfall' hits theaters November 9th

Comment by MYTN on February 26, 2012 at 9:00pm Andrew Kallimani, every film says 'something about the world we live in,' whether explicitly or implicitly. It just uses the fiction as a metaphor for fact.

Comment by Jamie McDonald on February 23, 2012 at 9:41am Sounds like has the right intentions with this film; there's a lot of hype for this, I hope it pulls through.
Comment by Microshock on February 23, 2012 at 2:00am Andrew, there's always been social/political statements in the James Bond series in general. It's not a new thing. Bond keeps with the times.
Smersh, the initial enemy of James Bond, WASN'T a political statement? Come on.
Comment by Andrew Kallimani on February 22, 2012 at 7:00pm The second Mendes said "make an escapist movie, while also saying something about the world we live in" I rolled my eyes harder than ever before. I don't want social/political statements made in a Bond film. This is not the franchise in it. Didn't he get it all out after his last six? I loved every Bond movie (except Never Say Never Again) and I hope he gets it right. Though so far I'm nervous. Non-action director, good composer doing the wrong genre (Thomas Newman). Let's hope for the best.
Comment by DickVanSwype on February 22, 2012 at 12:48pm So he's doing 007 for his 7th film? And on the 50th anniversary year? I'm hoping for something really epic, you could tell that Peter Lamont wasn't on Quantum, the film didn't have nearly the grand sense of scale that the Ken Adam/Peter Lamont years had.
Comment by Obed Casillas on February 22, 2012 at 12:27pm Spoilers, James Bond is in the movie.
