Gary LeVine posted a statusI gotta say, as much as I didn't like 'The Chronicles of Riddick,' I'm looking forward to the upcoming sequel 'Riddick.' The stuff we've seen from the production so far, mostly leaked by Vin Diesel himself, has been pretty enticing and today's set photo, revealed by director David Twohy further piques my interest. I had somehow forgotten that Karl Urban was in 'The Chronicles of Riddick,' and today's image shows that he will be reprising the role of Vaako for 'Riddick.' Since 'Chronicles' came out, Urban has made a significant impression on me with turns in 'Star Trek,' 'Red,' and this year's 'Dredd.' I am therefore excited to see how he is utilized for this sequel...so excited that I'm even willing to overlook his goth rock makeup. Take a look at the image below and let us know what you think.
'Riddick' hits theaters sometime next year

Comment by Christianpimp on November 19, 2012 at 11:49pm I liked the Chronicles of Riddick and always wondered how they would follow up with the movie should they make a sequel. The storyline with this sequel sounds like a disaster to me. Chronicles ended with Riddick becoming the Lord Marshall of the entire Necromonger Empire. So they are essentially making a sequel about his fellow necromongers abandoning him on a sun planet with deadly monsters and the only way he can survive is by alerting mercenaries to rescue him? Sounds like a combo of Pitch Black and Chronicles to me.
Comment by MavenCree on November 19, 2012 at 11:33pm Um... are they sure that's not just a clip from chronicles... not seeing a hair of difference.
Comment by I'm Batman on November 19, 2012 at 10:35pm I wanted to see what Riddick would do with a Galaxy size army after the end of Chronicles.
Comment by Lincoln Algir West on November 19, 2012 at 10:30pm Looking at the comments I feel vindicated in my enjoyment of Chronicles. I mean, it wasn't a master piece sure, but it was a fun fast fix of an action sci fi with a good look to it. I'm looking forward to this sequel, I have been since the cliffhanger.
i like Chronicles of Riddick..
