I'm not sold on the remake of Sam Raimi's 'Evil Dead,' and that is not because I am a stalwart when it comes to my beloved horror properties. I don't mind horror remakes, and have liked a great many of them. My reticence toward the new 'Evil Dead' is based on the marketing we've seen so far. I really didn't like that first trailer and now this poster makes a promise I hazard to say the movie cannot keep. Maybe I'm being too skeptical, but there's no denying its hyperbolic nature. Take a look at the poster below and let us know what you think.

The new 'Evil Dead' hits theaters April 12th, 2013

This movie looks like shit.

The design of the poster looks great, in my opinion. But, im getting tired of "horror" movies using "the most terrifying film ever" tagline. Not only is it unoriginal, but it doesn't really get me exited for the film. But the poster itself does look cool (and I like the classic logo to)

And what still has me going with this remake is that Sam Raimi is working on it, and it pretty much has the sign of approval from everyone that worked on the originals. And I heard Bruce Campbell will get a cameo to...

I actually kind of like the design of the poster, but this certainly isn't what I think of when I hear Evil Dead. It's designed the same way a Jodi Picoult novel cover is. The hyperbole will probably be mocked even more when reviews come out.

@ Johnny Rico having doubts about something is not the same as hate it..  even less coming from a medium  that tends to care more for its own money income than the quality of what they are actually making  such as the film industry  and anyway you don't have to support something if you don't feel it going the right way

Haters gonna hate.  I'm a huge fan of the originals and I'm willing to give this one a chance.  Hopefully it's good so the crew of the movie can say "First you wanna kill me...now you wanna kiss me...."
