The life and legend of Columbian druglord Pablo Escobar has come a long way trying to make it's way onto the big screen. Hopefully, the newest take on the fascinating character by Brad Furman ('The Lincoln Lawyer') will be the one that finally succeeds. Referred to as 'The World's Greatest Outlaw', Escobar was one of the wealthiest and most elusive criminals in all of history. Producer Scott Steindorf says the film will be a cross between 'The Godfather' and a war movie, focusing both on the charismatic personality of Escobar as well as his often-violent lifestyle.
Steindorf continues:
Previous attempts to bring a biopic based on Escobar have been for naught - both Oliver Stone's 'Escobar' and Joe Carnahan's 2007 project 'Killing Pablo' ended up going nowhere and being eventually disbanded. Newcomer Matt Aldrich will be scripting the film, after the successful sale of his spec script 'Father Daughter Time: A Tale of Armed Robbery and Eskimo Kisses' to Warner Bros. landed him the gig.

For anyone who doesn't watch it, it's a show about a movie star named Vinnie Chase and a few seasons ago they did a storyline where he starred in an adaptation of the life of Escobar named Medellin. In the show the film was shown at Cannes and tanked which is what Superbadmike is refering to below.
I googled the film and found there is a FAKE WEBSITE with a fake trailer about the fake movie! Priceless!
