Did you see anything in that trailer that said this was going to be a good movie. For the guy who compaired it to "batman begins" go back and look at the trailers. More dialoge and less action. This trailer is trying to get all the kids to come see this movie by showing some big battles, explosions, and nothing else. This trailer told us about as much as i already knew. JJ abrams is a hack and doesn't deserve to make movies any more. Tell me the last good movie he made. I mean a good movie not one that uses special effect to cover the fact that there is no story.

Honestly JJ never does anything with out a 100 million dolar budget so of course its goting to look great. Its to distract you from the point that the story sucks and he knows it.

I don't know why everyone is so upset about the interior of the enterprise. It looks like steve jobs and apple designed it, and I'm okay with that. I'm kinda sick of seeing the cold steel future where everything is colorless and devoid of personality.

hmm, I dont know about you all but when I saw the bootleg trailer I thought the beginning was an Anti Piracy add, or a warning to turn off your cell phones. but then Kirk said his name.

That being said Ive seen all the Star Treks and from the trailer It cant be worse then Insurrection, which was EFFFFFIN Boring, and besides with the majority of the star trek movies being political or excessive talking I could use some good'ole'Space fighting for two hours, besides what else is coming out that time of year, I mean I know watchmen will still be in theaters but at that point if it's any good ill have seen it 10 times XD

yea I like the trailer alot, and this is coming from somebody who thinks Star Trek is completely f*ckin stupid. The previous shows were like watching C-Span in space, the movies was boring and the mythology is completely uninteresting. And im not a star wars fan either. I only liked The Empire Strikes back and all the other installments were just meh to me. What I like about JJ Abrams is that he takes genre films and makes them accessible to everyone. Cloverfield was a big monster movie, but it had characters who were on the high end of the social pipeline and were very "poppy" which is unseen in monster movies and the sight of attractive actors and the plight of the characters is probably what made people who were dragged into seeing it who aren't monster movie fans appreciate it more. With Star Trek by having an attractive cast, alot less cheese in the film, intense action scenes, and clever casting I think people who aren't die hard trek fans, namely 95% of the rest of the population including me, will love it. I also think few can mix action with audio as well as Abrams. So Trek fans really need to get their heads out of their asses, look around and see that geek culture is now pop culture and it will change accordingly. I know what Abrams is doing, and it's brilliant.

I was being sarcastic, but then if you watched this trailer with Kirk flipping out of a car going into a canyon for no reason and thought, wow, this is an insightful, well thought out piece of cinema then I don't expect my jokes to be followed.

It's funny someone mentioned it being a "re imagining" of Star Trek which I would be fine with, if it didn't begin with Kirk flipping out of cars, Spock trying to stab Kirk, and amateurish camera angles. (i.e. 60s Batman style camera tilts)

Remember J.J.Abrams did not write Lost, never wrote Lost. He directed SOME of the first season of Lost and never worked on it after that. What he did do was make the horrible Mission Impossible 3, ruined the end of Alias, and then TOOK HIS NAME OFF OF Cloverfield because he didn't like it. And now, he makes this, if that's not the makings of George Lucas JR I dunno what is.

this is my first post, yeah big deal right so about the trailer im not much of a treke but with all the big effects and space battles maybe I'll see this one
