If it's crap ... We'll tell you
Getsuga59 posted a statusA new poster for Brad Bird's 'Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol' has just infiltrated the internet. This poster - should you choose to accept it - shows the member's of Ethan Hunt's IMF team walking through what appears to be a nuclear fallout. I'm joking of course, but the lighting on this image is quite strange. I also love how every member of the team has a keen fashion sense even as they are focused on saving the world. But then again, they were told that if any member of the IMF force is caught, killed, or seen in sweatpants, the agency would disavow all knowledge of their actions. Overall, not a heck of a lot to write home about with this poster, but I am still interested to see the movie. I'm also excited about Simon Pegg getting a larger role in this fourth installment of the franchise. Check out the poster below:
Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol' hits theaters December 16th.

I can't argue with a single fact you've presented. But the point I was trying to get to is that Cruise has a box office draw, not nearly as big as it once was but he can still guarentee a sale while most of his competitors can't. Also even though certain people like Paramount dropped him a few years ago, they're back to doing business with him. Now as we agree, the motivation is money, no arguement there, but the point is he still has value or Paramount wouldn't have taken him back. There was a point when he would have played Ironman, but that never came to be, shame.
@Josh
Yeah, I'll admit I have a bit of a man crush on Cruise!

There's no doubt that Cruise is eccentrc, but the point is he's still a big name and a big name is a big draw.
I remember when Paramount said they'd be dropping Cruise because of his "strange behaviour" and at around the same time the South Park guys did their episode where they lampooned Scientology and Cruise threatened to leave Paramount and not promote Mission: Impossible III if Paramount didn't get rid of the South Park episode or South Park altogether! Yet several years later here we are again, a new Mission: Impossible film and Paramount are apparently behind him again. It seems like people put the past behind them pretty easily when there's money to be made!
We'll see how the world reacts to Cruise we may yet see him on chat shows and magazine covers!
Comment by Gift of the Magi on October 27, 2011 at 10:44am @Happy Robo: Tom Cruise lost a huge amount of credibility after his now-famous Oprah interview and the Scientology video he made a while back. The studio that had his contact actually cancelled on him for a few years. Since returning to film, the only success he has had is in Tropic Thunder, and that as a bit role.
So honestly, Cruise may still have a name, but it's not as strong as it once was.
