New images of the upcoming sequel 'Transformers:Dark of the Moon' were published in the latest issue of Empire Magazine. The cover of the magazine is an introduction to "Sentinel Prime" (possibly the character we glimpsed in the teaser trailer judging by his facial "hair") and the all-new Optimus Prime (click for full-size):
The Michael Bay-helmed summer blockbuster - in theaters this July - will once again follow "No no nonono!" actor Shia LaBeouf as his character Sam allies with the Autobots against the Decepticons (led by Shockwave), as they learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft on the moon which might play a crucial role in their final battle.

Comment by The Dubya on March 1, 2011 at 3:02pm Honestly, I'd RATHER have Bay just lose his shit and go fucking insane with the Baysplosions and visual effects than what he did last film. And by what he did I mean barely anything.
Two and a half freakin hours, and there's like what, 4 semi memorable scenes? The opening, the scene in the forest, and the 2 minute Fallen-Pwnage. Other than that it was them yelling at each other randomly, stupid unfunny jokes from stupid unfunny characters, the MAIN ATTRACTION FOR THE TRANSFORMERS FRANCHISE BEING OUT OF 3/4 THE MOVIE, and just utter pointlessness that led up to absolutely nothing. At least with the first movie there was kinda a point to what happened and there was some sense of resolution. In #2? Nope.
My two star examples for how to do a good action movie are the Die Hard movies and the Crank/Commando movies. Either you have a solid enough story genuinely likable character you follow around and grow attached to as he's kicking all kinds of ass, or just say fuck it, blast through the simple story quickly before going into wild, crazy, outta-control no-way-could-this-ever-happen-in-reality insanity that you're just marveling as to how this directed even thought of this. T2 pussy footed around with the action so it could pretend to be something it's not and that's why people react so strongly against it. And that's why most of us are not gonna drool like 15 year old boys who are seeing their first action movie on the big screen and getting wowed by every underwhelming scene the rest of us are tired of.
Comment by The Connoisseur on March 1, 2011 at 2:25pm This better be the last fucking Bayformers film, or i'm going to find Michael Bay and tear his fucking optics out!
Comment by nerdilicouse?! on March 1, 2011 at 1:16pm @toast- I want this movie to be good BUUUUUUTTTTTT I think BAY is going to say whatever he can to mark that movie off his record. He has the new one coming out and he NEEDS people to look forward to it... I think it will be a visual masterpiece and totally suck for a story... i.e. the mark of the Baytard
@N/A- I literally called these movies foxformers forever, now that Fox is gone I guess the new girl will have to take her place.... by posing.... good thing she is a model with A LOT of acting exp...... er... we will just say experience
I Didn't Care for Transformers, Transformers 2, Friday the 13, or Nightmare on Elm Street.
I'll rent this
What the Hell does "Dark of the Moon" Mean?
Comment by toast3rov3n on March 1, 2011 at 11:45am @nerdilicouse LOL agreed (thumbs up)...
I just feel that if a 60 ton robot with a broadsword wants to have a beard, then we should let him rock the beard.
Not to go too far off topic, but what would you Spillios want from this sequel? Think Bay will get the tone right with this one?
From what I got from the BR commentary it seemed that the writers strike and the issues he had with ILM, he didn't get the movie he wanted with TF2. Thanks

Comment by toast3rov3n on March 1, 2011 at 9:48am @ Ged...you're right it's just a movie about toys from the 80's. Why the hate?
Rag on bay all you want but he knows how to keep the studios happy. That's what matters. If you gave the fans what they wanted you would have another Scott Pilgrim.
