New 'Hunger Games' Clip
The closer we get to 'The Hunger Games' the more I have to admit I'm looking forward to it. Like many of you, I saw the first trailer and could not shake how much it looked like a knockoff of 'Battle Royale.' Clearly there's more to the story in the books, and probably in the film, but it was just a snap judgment that lingered. This new film clip from the Gary Ross-directed adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novels informs of at least one distinction between the two films. The Hunger Games themselves are obviously more about pageantry and selling the contestants as commodities. In the clip, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) meets with her stylist Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) as he discusses his plan for her new look and the importance of gaining sponsors. I'm impressed particularly with Kravitz in this clip who I have never seen act in any film prior. Take a look at the clip below and let us know what you think.

I never saqw it that way. I am huge fan of the first HUnger game novel (but none of the others) and I would much rather have The hunger Games as the new fad.

Look at it this way, Harry Potter was not an original idea (Wizard Schools have been done)
Twilight was probably the worst fad to come around for movies and that was obviously unoriginal.
Hunger Games is one of many Horror Gameshow style series that have been made that were inspired by Battle Royale. I'd rather see legions of fans for this series and watch Twilight finally fade out of the spotlight.
Thus why I am excited for this movie, and hope it does not fall the way of the Narnia, Eragon, The Golden Compass, etc etc etc.

LOVE IT! I love the books. <3333 Counting down to when it comes out and hoping it won't disappoint me like 'Watchmen' did.

Goddamnit I'm pumped for this! Something about the way the trailers and clips are playing up not just the games but the whole messed-up world surrounding them, like the pageant, makes the world feel a lot more fleshed out
