'The Great Gatsby' is one of my favorite novels, and I'm really trying to get excited for Baz Luhrmann's film version. The movie will star Leonardo DiCaprio as GatsbyTobey Maguire as Nick CarrawayCarey Mulligan as Daisy, and Isla Fisher as Myrtle. The means by which the lives of these characters intersect will provide the dramatic tension for the movie. This new character poster shows Fisher as Myrtle. She looks pretty much exactly as I imagined that character while reading 'Gatsby,' and the description in the corner, taken straight from Scott's novel, is pitch perfect. Take a look at the poster below and let us know what you think.

'The Great Gatsby' hits theaters May 10th, 2013

The only reason I liked the Great Gatsby was because Fitzgerald killed off annoying, and frankly terrible characters. There was only one character that I liked, the main one, the rest were shitty human beings who couldn't see pass themselves. If Daisy or Gatsby had just, oh I don't know, acted like fucking adults, no one would have died and no one would look like fucking idiots, except Daisy, whom is an idiot by character. I detest the fact that I had to read this while great, challenging work, like Huck Finn and Of Mice and Men is in danger of censoring and/or banning! this is an outrage!

I'm done acting like a little twat now.

Myrtle's described as being sort of curvy leaning towards dumpy but, like the poster says, there was just something sexy about her, like how there's just something about Daisy. Sorry, Great Gatsby is my favorite book and I've dissected it to death. I'm really excited for Fisher's Myrtle since Karen Black was soooo miscast in the '70s version.

Wow, I thought I remembered the character of Myrtle being ugly or "uncomely" in the book. Stupid fucking me!
