New 'Gangster Squad' Set Pics
I've been looking forward to Ruben Fleischer's 'Gangster Squad' for quite some time. The idea of a raucous, 30s-era crime actioner sounds right up my alley, and the movie has assembled a hell of a cast. I'll admit my enthusiasm has waned a bit since learning of the film's removal of the movie theater shootout scene in the wake of the Colorado theater tragedy, but I suppose they had the best intentions there. Recently, these new set pics hit he web. I like that we don't just have a bunch of still shots, there are a couple of kinetic action shots as well. Take a look at the images below and let us know what you think.

The Title makes the movie sound like it is going to be a parody of gangster films.
How about "Gangster Step"? or "Of Fadora's and Tommy Guns"?

Great, now I will have to find a way to see the director's cut once this is released for home purchase. As long as this doesn't turn out to be another "Lawless" then I'm still on board.

The trailer looked fucking awesome, the movie theater shootout did look a little over the top anyways.

Screw this movie, I can't believe they removed that scene!! But because my boy Ryan is in it I'll still be seeing it, so I guess I'll have to suck it up.

I really hope the replacement scene will carry a similar emotional or thematic weight to that scene in the trailer, that would have been incredible to see in the final movie. But yeah, I completely understand the studio's decision for this, can't really fault them there
