Santos posted a discussion2013 will bring us a sequel to 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and remakes of both 'Carrie' and 'Evil Dead.' The marketing for Fede Alvarez's 'Evil Dead' has been pretty brash so far; at times declaring itself "the most terrifying film you will ever experience." This latest red-band trailer seems bent on furthering that conviction. I'm still dubious, but I will admit there is some stunning imagery here and I like the callbacks to Raimi's film. My biggest problem is still the fact that the overly severe tone sold in the trailers for the remake seems at odds with the darkly comedic original. Take a look at the red-band trailer below and let us know what you think.

Comment by DennisBel on January 9, 2013 at 8:33am So this is horror nowadays? Let's see how fucked up we can go with blood and throw up flying everywhere and exploding eyeballs and call it horror. Not my thing.

Comment by Miracleman on January 7, 2013 at 4:15pm Well, damn. These trailers, as much I hate to admit it, look pretty freakin' great. Non-CGI blood is a bonus, especially with the copious amounts of it that're pumping everywhere. It's refreshing to see they're taking it a new direction, too.
Comment by Mr. Bubbles on January 7, 2013 at 3:50pm I never thought I would say this, but I think this movie might actually turn out pretty well. Let's just hope the studio doesn't do what the Thing prequel did and demand CGI at the last minute.
For the last time the original Evil Dead wasn't a comedy. Any comedy in that movie was purely from the corny acting. Evil Dead 2 and on you could get away with calling Horror Comedies
Comment by Steven Lara on January 7, 2013 at 12:49am I gotta say that the first movie is a pure horror movie. It has funny stuff but it is still scary. I want this to come out already so people can stop complaining about this. Hopefully it turns out to be like the Dawn Of The Dead Remake. Good.
