Doctor Who's newest companion has been cast.  Jenna-Louise Coleman will step into the T.A.R.D.I.S. after (as?) current companions Amy and Rory (Karen Gillian and Arthur Darvill), leave it at some point during Season/Series 7.

Says executive producer Steven Moffat: “It’s not often the Doctor meets someone who can talk even faster than he does, but it’s about to happen,” Moffat adds. “Jenna is going to lead him his merriest dance yet. And that’s all you’re getting for now.”

No other character information has been given.

Coleman has had roles in the British soap Emmerdale and played someone called 'Connie' in Captain America: The First Avenger.

On a personal note, I was kind of hoping they'd go with a guy this time... just for a different dynamic.  I really like the way The Doctor and Rory play off each other and would've like to have seen something similar for the new batch.
