New 'Dark Knight Rises' Plot Details Revealed

This has been a big day for plot details revealed in interviews with actresses. First, Charlize Theron spills the beans that the on again/off again 'Mad Max: Fury Road' won't be a prequel or a sequel but a re-imagining, and now an L.A. Times interview with Anne Hathaway, Catwoman herself, is yielding fresh 'Dark Knight Rises' plot details. The intro to the interview, which reads like a page directly from the script, paints a perfect picture of a fascinating scene from the film. The paragraph is listed below, but please be advised, it is very spoilery. If you want to go into 'TDKR' blind, DO NOT READ this next paragraph.

"Gotham City is a war zone. A ruthless madman named Bane has ripped away any sense of security and the citizens, haggard and clutching suitcases with refugee anxiety, sit behind barbed wire waiting to see what will blow up next. A hooded prisoner is dragged in – it’s Bruce Wayne, one of Gotham’s most famous faces – but the eyes of the crowd go instead to the woman in black standing at the top of the staircase. 'Sorry to spoil things, boys, but Bane needs these guys himself,' says sultry Selina Kyle, played here by actress Anne Hathaway, navigating the steps with stiletto heels that, on closer inspection, turn out to have serrated edges capable of leaving nasty claw marks in a fight. She also wears high-tech goggles that, when not in use, flip up and resemble feline ears."

Sounds pretty intense right? The interesting thing about this snippet is that it suggests a level of collusion between Bane and Catwoman that, while easily assumed, had never before been confirmed. I'm not at all surprised that Bruce Wayne is among the hostages. The whole point of Bane's quest, as least as it was in the comics, was to make Batman suffer as much as possible both mentally and physically before he finally faced him one-on-one, and he discovers during this mission that Bruce Wayne is Batman. The two events sort of go hand-in-hand. Hathaway also revealed that since silver screen legend Hedy Lamarr was Batman creator Bob Kane's inspiration for Catwoman, that she has been researching the actress to pick up a few pointers; apparently even adjusting her breathing to imitate Lamarr. All in all, a very intriguing interview to be certain.

'The Dark Knight Rises' hits theaters July 20, 2012

I respect your opinions and interesting find online. But I'll believe it when I see it next year. Thanks anyway, guys. Happy New Years too!!.

PS I didn't read your blog above too. Simply because I don't want to spoil my experience when viewing.

I didn't want anything spoiled, but I couldn't resist reading that...so I read it with my eyes half closed/squinting. Proper balance.

Robin wont be in the movie Christian Bale said he wont play batman if robin is involved and Nolan himself said that robin is not a good edition for the darker batman stories (clearly hasn't read the comics in a while) :p but with Nolan he never lets secrets out so could be just throwing people off because he is a god and god can do that :p
