Adam Collins added a discussion to the group Lady Boy Tequila SlavesDuring Gary Oldman's recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show, a clip from Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight Rises' was featured. The clip shows Commissioner Gordon (Oldman) and police officer John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Blake seems terribly interested in finding out Batman's secret identity, I wonder how that will fit into the plot. I love the shot of the busted bat signal, such an iconic image of downfall. Take a look at the clip below and let us know what you think.
'The Dark Knight Rises' hits theaters July 20th

Comment by Mark Stack on July 16, 2012 at 10:44pm To me, it looks like they overdubbed Levitt when he says, "Blake, sir." He could be saying "Grayson." But, I'm probably just overanalyzing this.
Comment by Dublin Mike on July 16, 2012 at 8:23am @DavetheBrave, yeah, I was pretty sure that Bane would severely injure Batman at some point, but do we really need to see the scenes with Bruce walking with a cane? Maybe I'm just being finicky, and the casual fan won't pick it up.
Besides, easy enough to turn the channel whenever a trailer comes on, then flip it back a minute later.
Comment by The Film Rebellion on July 14, 2012 at 2:53am @DaveTheBrave That's a solid prediction, and I wouldn't be surprised if you were right. I was exagerrating just a bit and I wasn't trying to downplay Blake's role in any way. I know he's gonna be a huge part of the story.
Comment by DaveTheBrave on July 13, 2012 at 11:32am Really? I think that their marketing has been great in not revealing too much temporal information. We all know Batman is going to get "broken" by Bane at some point (probably the middle of the film). I have a general idea how it will play out, but Bane's motivation (League of Shadows stuff) has been kept very nicely out of the trailers. If he gets as much screen time as the Joker did then he should be very well developed.
Also, I agree with @TheFilmRebellion: I think John Blake is just going to take up the job of Batman from a cop's position of power, but he won't actually become Bats or Robin or Nightwing. Bane will probably make short work of him and inspire Wayne's revenge. God, I can't wait for this damn movie!!!!!!
Comment by Dublin Mike on July 13, 2012 at 10:32am I'm doing everything I can to try to avoid anything Dark Knight related right now. I've seen so much of it, I can just about put together a timeline of how the movie flows
Comment by The Film Rebellion on July 13, 2012 at 2:50am Now I know there's been a lot of speculation about the John Blake character. For example: is he Robin? Is he Nightwing? Will he be the NEW Batman?!?! And I think I've finally figured it out: He's a cop. Just a cop. He's not Robin, he's not Nightwing, he's definitely not gonna be the new Batman, he's just a cop.
Comment by wuzzman on July 13, 2012 at 12:59am I haven't been looking forward to this since catwoman was introduced in a clip a while ago. Please let me be wrong.
Comment by Chris McBride on July 12, 2012 at 4:16pm It's funny. Years ago, when people discussed if Robin could fit it Nolan's universe, this is what I was thinking. Dick would be a rookie cop, years after his parents death, and eventually deciding whether he should hunt Batman, or help him. The movie would allude to him being a sidekick in the same way the Joker alluded that it would be a never-ending battle between him and Batman. However, I do like Jason's theory of Blake taking the role of Batman.
