Disney Pictures has released a new extended trailer for their upcoming sequel 'Cars 2'. The extended trailer gives you a glimpse of the action as Mater, played once again by Larry the Cable Guy, accidentally falls into the spy business by helping Finn McMissile (Michael Caine) after he fails to rendezvous with Rod "Torque" Redline (played by Bruce Campbell, as we reported here).

Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is also back for the sequel getting ready to race in the World Grand Prix, as long as Mater and McMissile can successfully prevent an evil plot to sabotage the race. The film comes to theaters June 24th.

Commenting on how I don't have much faith in this sequel seems redundant at this point.
I love Pixar (Like Every-one else) but I've had issues with one, MAYBE 2 of their previous films which were very popular but I found to be manipulative and shallow... so a Cars sequel isn't exactly making me run out the door to pre-order tickets.

I kind of see the logic behind them choosing Cars for a sequel, since people didn't have any emotional attachment to the characters who were, lets be honest, not that deep, people won't be complaining they "ruined the first one" since not many people cared for the first one.

I'll see it but won't go in expecting it to measure up to Pixars best or Rango. If go in with Dreamworks expectations, I think I'll be satisfied with a fun, goofy movie.

Wow I guess even pixar can't avoid the dreaded trailer "this will suck!" battle cry.
Klatez and MaxJayJay: thank you and agreed.

I am a MASSIVE pixar fan. I am probably the biggest fan amungst everybody I knwo, and I can tell you things about Pixars history you probably never would have known.

Anyway, my early predictions of this movie are that it will be a fun, exciting and cheesy (in a good way). I have very little doubt this will be Pixars worst, but I have faith in them.

I think I'll react to this in a very simular way to how I reacted to the first Cars. Although it wasn't as good as their other films, I still had that feeling that they enjoyed making this, and worked as hard as they always would on this film.

Also, I felt a little sorry for the first cars film, because I think the main reason it was disliked by some was because Pixar had released something so brilliant before (which was the Incredibles). the comparisson is undeniable, therefore making Cars look alot worse than it actually was.

As for the main reason why they made this sequel, I simply don't know. I do think it is mainly for profit, but I don't think it's going to be anything like the Shrek series. I don't think Pixar will allow cars to become a series for nothing more than money-making; just something to give them a little boost.

I will go to see this with as much anticipation as I would with any of the Pixar films. I'm just not expecting anything above the half way line.

Besides, you can't get it right all the time!!!

Um, I think I'll pass on this one.

Cars is my least favorite Pixar film. I think it would be a better film if they would not include McQueen and Mater, and just have Michael Caine's character. The beginning of the trailer was surprisingly cool.
