One thing I admire about diehard comic book fans is their incredible attention to detail. I have found myself in countless discussions with fans about how the various film adaptations make changes to the costuming of their favorite heroes, for better or for worse. Now, a new image from Marc Webb's 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' has cropped up, which gives us a glimpse of Spidey's new threads. From the image, only a few prominent changes are visible, the most noticeable being the eyes on the mask. Is it more in line with current or classic canon? Or is it just a meaningless cosmetic choice? I leave it to the more informed Spider-Man fans to decide. Take a look at the image below and let us know what you think.

'Amazing Spider-Man 2' is due in theaters May 2, 2014

the spider-man symbol is quite like the one in the Sam Raimi spider-man.

Looks like they returned to the original design, which was used in the Sam Raimi Trilogy. I actually liked the new design in the first "The Amazing Spider-Man" but understandable that the classic is hard to replace. The picture looks great but i wonder how it looks like in motion.

The eyes look 1000 times better than the eyes on the last suit and people are complaining? Plus the color (no baby blue) is improved as well as the design of the fabric. Plus they ditched the tennis shoe look of his boots.

He looks like Spider-Man. Why's everyone fighting?

Heeey...this isn't the Superior Spider-man? All wrong. ;)

The eyes was a small issue for me in most of the films. Never knew how much of a difference they make, looks really good!!

Look at the texture, lighting and coloring. If there was no tag, I would have sworn up and down that this was a poster for Raimi's.

@FalseFace It's a comic book adaption, not the actual comic book. Expressive costume eyes are cartoony, if they went as far as to add them, they may as well drop live action, reboot it (again!)and just go for a full digitally animated film.

It's the Sam Raimi suit with more comic-book-faithful eyes glued on. That's exactly what it looks like!

Maa.
