My Top 5 Anticipated Movies of Fall-Winter Season

TOP 5 ANTICIPATED MOVIES of FALL/WINTER Season

The last week of the Summer season (not movie season) is on us and coming to a close, and has already delivered better movies like Easy A and The Town, so it's safe to assume that the rest of the year won't be as disappointing as the summer season was, well, hopefully. But what we got here are some big movies this fall, ones that could potentially become big winners come award season next year. We are looking at the return of some big directors and some signature blockbuster franchises.

HERE IT IS FOLKS:

5. 127 Hours

Time and time again, James Franco has proved to be a talented guy that can handle comedy, drama, and action. And of course Danny Boyle is now coming off of the brilliant Slumdog Millionaire his first film since then. And it looks to be just as good. Seeing that the story will be following James Franco's character trapped alone in this hell hole (literally) for 5 days, we could get time to see his acting talents shine, and possibly win him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor, and Boyle, another Best Picture award.

4. Due Date

Fresh off the Success of the Hangover, Todd Phillips looks to resume his domination of the comedy genre this

year, with this road trip flick, Due Date. Seeing as this time of the year is lacking in a good R comedy, we could

use some adult rated laughs this season. With the always great Robert Downey Jr. and the eccentric (or psycho, I don't know which) Zach Galifianakis, it seems like an odd pair for a buddy comedy, but looking at the trailer,

it might just work. In fact, delivering chemistry is what made the Hangover great, if Todd Phillips delivers that

here, he might just be looking at another Golden Globe win.

3. TRON LEGACY

I know a guy who is seeing this for just the soundtrack by Daft Punk, but the guy must be some sort of retard,

because he is not noticing the good parts around it. We've Oscar winner, Jeff Bridges (who knows if they'll play

to his talents though), great CG, hotty Olivia Wilde, and the return of a cult phenomenon. It's also being touted

by Disney as a 3-D experience on 'Avatar' levels. While it may just be marketing hokum, If Disney can deliver

on this promise, it could deliver a cool 3-D experience bringing us one step closer to a beloved franchise and

renew our faith in the format, seeing as the 3D converted crap this year isn't.

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1

As a Harry Potter fan, I'll admit, I thought the whole two part idea was kind of dumb at first. Reading the book, it felt like one straight forward adventure that would only need one movie. But after seeing the trailer, and hearing all the good buzz from early screenings, I remain optimistic that the final installment will be the best. It seems the heat has been turned up as things go really dark for this one. If David Yates could nail the sense of desolation and loneliness from the book while leaving no question unanswered, we could be looking at the Harry Potter equivalent of the Empire Strikes Back, sombre, dark, rich, and entertaining. I will also be sad to see a series I loved as a kid growing up and as teen relating to their characters, finally end in all it's glory.

1. The Social Network

To be really honest, I wasn't at all aware of this films existence till a few months ago when I heard David Fincher was attached, and that Jesse Eisenberg was the lead. I watched the trailer for this thing and was immediately excited for this one. Early reviews are saying it's the film of our generation, and all kind of praises, so it's already looking like a good movie, but just how good. I say near perfect. This could be the one that takes it home awards season as we look at an interesting tale of betrayal and uprising, with an cast that promises to be the future of Hollywood (and Spider-Man!). So when October 1st comes, you can bet I'll be in line for this one, for the tale of a trivial thing like Facebook, could be one of the can't miss movies of the year.

So folks, are you headed out to movies this fall? IF so, what are you seeing? PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS BELOW! : )
