I decided to talk about this mostly because I've already talked about my thoughts on the shootings in the last few days and if you were just watching TV, they just showed James Holmes in a Colorado courtroom and even he looks like he knows he fucked up big time.

I hope that he gets what's coming to him for what he did and that's all I'm saying because I've said it before.

I wanted to talk about how I felt about Warner Bros.' actions to the shootings because I thought what they did was a very bold move.

On Friday, Warner Bros. made the official announcement that because of the shootings, they wouldn't release the box office numbers for The Dark Knight Rises until Monday. Following that, Fox, Universal, Disney, Lionsgate, and more also announced they wouldn't release the numbers until Monday as well.

To me, I thought that was a bold move to do mostly because of all the buildup that The Dark Knight Rises was having, it was set to be the biggest movie of the year. And to see that Warner Bros. has decided not to release the numbers at all during the weekend, I thought that was a bold move for them to do. It proves that studio personnel like that aren't just money grabbers like some may have expected, they all do have sympathy for what happened. And honestly, I would like to meet the person who doesn't feel sorry because I would like to have a few words with them.

Sure, the downfall of this is that we don't have any box office numbers to report and that A Couple Of Cold Ones won't have a Top 5 for Leon to sing about and for Korey to fuck around with Leon on, but for the sake of what happened, I don't think anyone would have a problem.

If there's any problem that I think Warner Bros. would have, it's about the upcoming Gangster Squad.

I just read a thing on Slashfilm.com about how Warner Bros. is considering delaying the September 7th release of Gangster Squad and also to recut it.

If you don't know, there's a scene in the Gangster Squad trailer where the main characters shoot off guns during a movie theater showing. Now, to be honest, I actually thought that was a cool scene. However, after what happened, I don't blame them for trying to find a way to take it out.

But to recut the entire film because of that scene being there, if they go through with it, I don't know if that's going to be good for the movie. It hasn't been official yet because Warner Bros. is reportedly planning to do a test screening of Gangster Squad to see what happens. But honestly, I don't think they should just recut the whole movie because of that one scene.

Basically, if they let that happen then that means James Holmes wins in the battle. The people behind Gangster Squad had nothing to do with what happened in Aurora, Colorado, so why should they have to suffer because of it.

While I think the scene in question should be somewhat fixed up, I don't think they need to recut the whole movie because of it. I think Warner Bros. could easily find a better way to fix this problem without resulting to removing what could be a key scene in the film and recutting it to where the film makes no sense.

Basically what I'm saying is that I think Warner Bros. may be going a little overboard with what they plan to do with Gangster Squad and I hope they can find a better way to go through with that without delaying the film and recutting it. However, I have to give WB their credits and I praise them for stepping back on releasing box office numbers for the biggest movie of the year because of what happened. That took a lot of balls to do and I salute them for that.
