If it's crap ... We'll tell you

BigRedNY posted a blog postI'm not even going to be long on this subject but I think it needs to be said because as of right now, nobody seems to be saying much about it.
Remember last month when I did a My Take On... on the Lana Del Rey performance on SNL that a lot of people thought was the worst performance in the show's history. I defended the performance saying that it wasn't that bad and guessed that Del Rey was nervous and said that the performance was nowhere near the worst.
Meanwhile, on Tonight's show with guest host Maya Rudolph, Sleigh Bells performed. I have never heard of them before until tonight and after their performance, I have only this to say...
THEY WERE FUCKING AWFUL!!!!!!
I mean, good god, was that terrible? I couldn't understand a word anybody was saying at all, it was so bad.
In doing research of the band itself, I learned that their type of music was something called "noise pop". Here's what the Wikipedia definition says:
Noise pop is a subgenre of alternative rock developed in the mid 1980s in the UK and US, that mixes atonal noise or feedback, or both, with the melodic instrumentation and production elements more often found in pop music, making it more melodic and angst-free than noise rock.
That's nice and all but couldn't they find a way to make the lyrics at least somewhat understandable?
The biggest problem with the performances was that the music was blasting over the lyrics and you couldn't understand a damn word coming out of the performers' mouths.
This is the performance that should be getting all the negative criticisms as being one of the worst SNL performances ever and not Lana Del Rey's performance, she was at least trying and she did her damndest but here, it's like the person behind the sound testing wasn't even trying.
To be fair, I'm getting upset over the way the performance went and not with the performers themselves. For all I know, the performers did alright but I couldn't tell because the fucking music was so loud.
And the worst part of this all is that the rest of the show itself was great, it's the best show I've seen so far this year except for the muscial performances, which ruin a great show.
So, the point of me ranting about this is that the people behind the sound for this group, Sleigh Bells, either need to be fired or need to do a better damn job than what they did tonight. Because like I said, the rest of the show was hilarious, I mean who doesn't love Maya Rudolph?
