My review of The Avengers
Now, I haven't been on Spill.com for quite a while, but I'm back with my review of The Avengers! Bare in mind I did see on the day it came out but I decided this would be my come back review so let's get started.
The story of The Avengers goes like this: Loki, the God of Mischief, comes to Earth after falling through the portal at the end of Thor, after the Cosmic Cube, or the Tesseract, to use it to open a a gateway in space so he's army can come to Earth so he can over the world and because of this Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., puts the Avenger Initiative into motion so Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye can stop Loki.
Now this film has been hyped up since the post credits scene of Iron Man. But does live up to the hype? HELL FUCKING YES!
The Avengers is Marvel's answer to The Dark Knight as in this is the best Marvel movie to date, not just Marvel Studios movie, but I'm talking about all the movies based on Marvel characters.
Joss Whedon does a fantastic job making all the main characters matter and gives them enough screen time just to show how awesome they are. The cast is excellent. Robert Downey Jr, what is there to say? He IS Tony Stark. Chris Evans is just as good as he was in Captain America: The First Avenger just proving once again he is perfect for Steve Rogers. Chris Hemsworth IS Thor, same as Chris Evans, he was awsome. Scarlett Johansson is hot as always but actually gives Black Widow just depth and character development showing me that no else can play Black Widow except her. Jeremy Renner doesn't have alot of screen time, but when does he is awesome as Hawkeye. Samuel L. Jackson is great as usual because he's Sam "Motherf**king Jackson! Tom Hiddleston is pure brilliance as Loki he's bad guy you love to hate.
And Mark Ruffalo, after replacing Edward Norton, out shines Norton! Mark Ruffalo IS Bruce Banner/Hulk! I love Norton as Banner but Ruffalo blows him out of the water!
The action and the special effects are amazing. I swear the final battle in New York is the best final battle in any comic book movie.
The Avengers assemble with a vengeance! It is quite possibly the best comic book movie ever made
