My Predicted Ratings for the movies coming out in January

Daybreakers
Written and Directed by Michael and Peter Spierig.
They've only done one film iso far called 'The Undead' I can't say I've heard of it, but this film looks interesting and its doing something a bit different and its got Willem Dafoe. So I'm gonna give this a chance.
Predicted Rating: Full Price

The Book of Eli
Directed by Albert and Allen Hughes
Written by Gary Whitta
The Hughes have done some notable work including Dead Presidents which I've heard people say is a very underrated film. And they've done Menace II Society which is apparently very accalimed. The writer is a new guy so I'm going to give him a chance. I like the three main actors in the film, Washington is a really good actor, Oldman is a very underrated actor and I love Mila Kunis.
Predicted Rating: Full Price

Edge of Darkness
Directed by Martin Campbell
Written by Andrew Bovell, William Monahan
Of course if anyone has seen this trailer knows that this being done by the same guy who did Casino Royale (I haven't seen it yet, I know I need to) But his also done Goldeneye and The Mask of Zorro which are good action films, but he also did the sequel The Legend of Zorro... which sucked. One of the writers of the film, Andrew Bovell has apparently done some really good stuff, I've never heard of these films but I've read some good reviews about them, (Strictly Ballroom, Head On, Lantana) The other writer is William Monahan who wrote the screenplay for the Departed (and won an Oscar for it) But he also did the screenplays for Kingdom of Heaven and Body of Lies which I've heard are ok.
Predicted Rating: Matinee

Leap Year
Directed by Anand Tucker
Written by Harry Elfont, Deborah Kaplan
The director of the film has done some pretty accalimed stuff in the pass such as Hilary and Jackie. From the other films on his filmography it looks like he does a good job with movies centered around women.
Now the writers on the other had have done some pretty bad stuff like The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, Josie and the Pussycats and Surviving Christmas so yeah. But maybe Tucker can pull it off and if I was on a date and my date wanted to see this film I'd check it out. And I do like Amy Adams she's a pretty good actress.
Predicted Rating: Matinee

Youth in Revolt
Directed by Miguel Arteta
Written by Gustin Nash
Arteta has done a film that I've been wanting to check out called Chuck & Buck which is I hear is a pretty good film. And his done some other well received stuff. The writer of the film has only done one other film before this, 'Charlie Bartlett', and I've heard its ok. So this could be ok. Also I'm just not that big a fan of Michael Cera, his ok.
Predicted Rating: Matinee

Extraordinary Measures
Directed by Tom Vaughan
Written by Robert Nelson Jacobs
The director has only done two films and I've only heard of one, and it's What Happened in Vegas. So yeah. The writer has done a few films and they've been films that I've heard are pretty good, including Chocolate and The Water Horse. I like Fraser and Ford as actors, but really this film just looks really schmaltzy but it could still be good. I don't know.
Predicted Rating: Rental

The Spy Next Door
Directed by Brian Levant
Written by Jonathan Bernstein, Jim Greer
I'm not skipping this because it's a kids film but... well lets start with the director Brian Levant, here are some of the highlights of his career: Jingle All the Way, Both Flintstones movies and Are We Done Yet. One of the screenwriters, Bernstein has only written for three films, and one of those films was Just My Luck... a Lindsay Lohan movie... yeah. Now this is Greer's first movie and hopefully he'll make better choices in the future. Now I like Jackie Chan, Who Am I is my favorite film of his, but the little girl in the film, man just from the trailer she looks like she does a horrible job. I know children aren't the best actors but they are good kid actors, they're no excuse. Also this plot is just stupid.
Predicted Rating: Some Ole Bulls**t

The Tooth Fairy
Directed by Michael Lembeck
Written by Lowell Ganz, Babaloo Mandel, Joshua Sternin, Jeffrey Ventimilia, Randi Mayem Singer
Again I'm not skipping it because its a kids movie. The most recognizable movie the director has done are the The Santa Clause sequels, which stunk... big time. There are five freaking writers! No movie needs five writers! Now grant it two of these guys wrote the screenplay for City Slickers, but these other writers have only done tv stuff. You know whats really a shame? This movie has Julie Andrews and Billy Crystal, two actors that I love. Also it just looks so freaking stupid. But it looks better than Spy Next Door
Predicted Rating: Rental

Legion
Directed by Scott Stewart
Written by Peter Schink, Scott Stewart
The director and co-writer hasn't done anything and the other writer was an editor before this. An Editor! To some really bad movies. Also the plot just doesn't make any sense!
Predicted Rating: Some Ole Bulls**t

When in Rome
Directed by Mark Steven Johnson
Written by David Diamond, David Weissman
The director has done some really bad super-hero movies like Daredevil, Elektra and Ghost Rider, so what makes him thing he can do a romantic-comedy? The writers although they did do Family Man which I do like... they also did Old Dogs which I dare not watch.
Predicteed Rating: Some Ole Bulls**t
