Batman: Black and White vol 1 of 3

Kurt Busiek's Superman: Secret Identity
About a Boy named Clark Kent whos life parrales Supermans

Kurt Busiek's Marvels
The series examines the Marvel Universe, the collective setting of most of Marvel's superhero series, from the perspective news photographer Phil Sheldon.

Lucifer
The series ended in June 2006 with issue #75
In the regular series, written by Mike Carey, Lucifer runs a piano bar (an element introduced in the Sandman story The Kindly Ones) called "Lux" in Los Angeles, with the assistance of his female consort, Mazikeen who is a Lilim, one of the race descended from Lilith. Lucifer is portrayed as a sophisticated and almost charming man, according to the stereotypical gentleman-devil. Beneath his charisma, however, Lucifer is a deadly and Machiavellian character, with no regard for human life or indeed anyone or anything but himself (and perhaps Mazikeen): a proud and vindictive fallen angel who has no qualms using powers second only to those of his father, Yahweh.

The Boys
The series is set in a contemporary world very much similar to real one, with one notable exception: a number of people have some form of superpower. The series follows a superpowered CIA squad, known informally as "the Boys", whose job it is to keep watch on superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or kill them.

HellBlazer
Still going strong since the 1980s
Constantine is unusual among comic book characters in that he has aged in real time since his creation.

Spawn
The religion-heavy book began with a very superhero-like tone, much like McFarlane's previous work, but the title character evolved into a more flawed anti-hero. The current book has skewed significantly darker than early issues would suggest. McFarlane attributes this to being a necessary part of development. To introduce the book to readers it had to be slightly cleaner than he really wished it to be so that it read like a superhero tale. As the book took off and became more established he was able to alter the tone closer to his vision.

A CIA agent killed by his own boss for witnessing his corruption, Al Simmons was sent to hell. To see his wife one more time, he made a deal with the devil Malebolgia to become an undead "hellspawn". Spawn has tried to retain his own humanity while finding a way out of Satana's control and battling a variety of enemies, both supernatural and criminal.
