Where on Earth has 2011 gone? The years now seem to be going by in just a matter of weeks not months; very worrying. Anyway I figured now would be a good time than any just to reflect a little on the films I've seen in 2011 and name my favourite films, actors, moments; good and bad etc.

On another note, I don't know how it's like outside of the UK but I'm pissed that where I live I would have to travel miles to see some smaller movie such as the Tree of Life, Take Shelter, and the Artist to name a few instead of visiting my local cinemas just about 10 minutes away. Annoying.

Best Films 2011

1. The King's Speech

2. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

4. Black Swan

5. Drive

Biggest Disappointments

1. Green Lantern

2. Cowboys and Aliens

3. Sucker Punch (looked so cool in the trailers)

4. The first hour of Transformers Dark of the Moon

5. The ending of Warrior

Best Surprises

1. Rise of the Planet of the Apes

2. Thor

3. Real Steel

4. The Inbetweeners

5. Hugo

Honourable mention to the outstanding performances of Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law and Jared Harris in Sherlock Holmes 2. Was such an entertaining film.

For 2012, cannot wait to see the Avengers and the Dark Knight Rises. Spielbergs War Horse and long anticipated biopic Lincoln are a must as well. A Dangerous Method, Shame and the Iron Lady also tick my boxes.

It was released here in the UK on January 7th 2011 so I consider it to be a 2011 film from my perspective.
