Monkeyiron posted a discussionSafe stars Jason Statham as an ex-cop who crosses paths with a little Chinese girl, played by newcomer Catherine Chan, and ends up protecting her from, well, pretty much everyone. Turns out, the girl has memorized the codes to a couple of safes belonging to some powerful people in New York City.
Aside from some nifty camerawork and good action scenes, the movie isn't anything special. The story works until halfway in, at which point it becomes a bit muddled. The two leads, Chan & Statham, work well together, but unfortunately they don't have many scenes together.
Honestly, That's all I have to say about the film. I enjoyed it as I was watching it in the theater, but a short time afterwards, I couldn't think of anything about it that made me want to see it again. In fact, some hours later I forgot I even saw the film. That's getting to be a pet peeve of mine, and it almost makes me want to be more picky about my movies. But hey, what's life without risks?
