Mila Kunis & Channing Tatum To Star In The Wachowskis' 'Jupiter Ascending'
This year will see the release of 'Cloud Atlas' across the globe, the directorial collaboration between Tom Tykwer ('Run Lola Run') and Lana and Andy Wachowski ('The Matrix' trilogy). And now it seems the Wachowskis are already prepping their next project: 'Jupiter Ascending.' While very few of the plot details are known, the film is apparently an sci-fi actioner of their own creation and will see them once again working with Warner Brothers. The studio has just offered the film's lead roles to Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis. 'Jupiter Ascending,' the duo's first original property since 'The Matrix,'is set to begin production later this year.
I like Mila Kunis quite a bit, she's great in both dramatic roles (a la 'Black Swan') as well as comedic roles ('Forgetting Sarah Marshall'). It'll be interesting to see how she fits into a large-scale sci-fi/action aesthetic. If you had asked me a few weeks ago what I thought of Channing Tatum being cast in this film, I'd have rolled my eyes so hard they'd be in very real danger of getting stuck. I found him to be passable at best, and a frustrating plank of wood at worst. However, I thought his performance in 'The Vow' was quite strong, and he was absolutely brilliant in '21 Jump Street.'It has completely altered my perception of him and, if nothing else, I'm intrigued to see what the Wachowskis are able get from him within this framework.
What do you guys think? Are you interested in another original Wachowski property? What do you think of Kunis and Tatum as the leads?

Cloud Atlas is one of my most anticipated movies of the year.
The fact that these guys are working on an original science fiction story gets me even more excited.
