Michael Fassbender Lands Role in Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus'

Source: HeatVision

According to THR, Michael Fassbender has taken a role as an android in Ridley Scott's upcoming used-to-be-an-Alien-prequel film "Prometheus".

Fassbender, who is currently portraying Magneto in "X-Men: First Class", was actually offered a role in the film last year, back when it was still a direct prequel to the Alien films, but has now accepted a role in this new sci-fi project.

He will star opposite Noomi Rapace in the film, which has recently moved it's release date from March 9th, 2012 to June 8th, 2012 (essentially swapping release dates with Pixar's recently rescheduled "John Carter of Mars" film to sidestep a potential clash).

Still, the story ideas for Prometheus are very interesting.

I really hope that the strands of Alien DNA left in the script are meaty enough. I was truly looking forward to the prequel, the ideas Scott & company were talking about pulled me in. I could not wait. Ridley Scott better come good with this one, because now he no longer has the disturbing imagery of the Xenomorphs to fall back on.

how can an android and a space jockey be in the movie and it still has nothing to do with the alien movies, this is stupid..

What the F**k! You know what i was disappointed with scott when he said no alien prequel but now an android is in this. DUDE JUST MAKE A F**KIN ALIEN MOVIE THATS WHAT THIS STUFF IS IN. It sounds exaclty like alien. He got the "original" idea while he was makeing an alien film. HE better do something good with this is all im sayin

Though it would've been so sweet to have Scott making a new Alien film, this is way cooler. Spacegazm indeed!
