C posted a blog postCan't get enough 'Batman: Arkham City'? What do you mean you haven't bought it yet? Well I'm actually in the same boat and, as a Batman fan, I can't tell you why I've been dragging my feet. I've seen countless people playing the game and everything about it looks outstanding. But after watching this fan-made mashup video setting imagery from the game (as well as a few moments of 'Batman: Arkham Asylum') to the amazing Danny Elfman theme from 'Batman: The Animated Series,' purchasing this game just became something akin to a moral imperative. Check out the video below. True, it's not the cleverest of mashups, but it gives a fitting soundtrack to the cinematic quality and general badassery of the gameplay.

Comment by Gift of the Magi on November 16, 2011 at 1:05pm @K-Bomb and Josh Maxwell: Oh I am NOT arguing about that steaming pile of shit known as the Teen Titans...more a parody of anime than a decent series about my favorite run of the Titans. Jesus, WHAT drugs were those people on? Ren and Stimpy made more sense half the time...
But Young Justice? Yes yes, I know it's an alt world to the main story...but the story...holy shit, is it full of stupid. Just the way they treat Superman makes me want to beat the writers into paste with a Yugo. Ok, so your plot is that you're going to take a bunch of newbie heroes and sidekicks...who have brightly colored costumes and loud personalities...and one is mentally unstable with violent tendencies...and have them to very dangerous, politically volatile STEALTH MISSIONS around the globe...as training for the JLA?!?
I thought Batman was smart.
IF they had not added the silly stealth option, IF they had a more formal training program, IF the villains and situations they were sent to made sense in team building, and IF they didn't add useless equipment like bio-ships, 'stealth' black versions of their costumes and gimmick bikes, and IF they had the adult heroes ACT LIKE THE REAL HEROES....then I might have given this show a pass.
But the moment they had Superman do the dick move and NOT acknowledge and help Superboy, they failed and big. That is NOT Superman...that's writing by people who have no idea what they are doing and just want to inject more Batman into the world. The rest...oy...is just more shit on the pile.

Comment by Clarkeboi on November 16, 2011 at 11:01am Young justice is kinda boring . TT rocks
Comment by AJ Ali on November 16, 2011 at 11:00am A much BETTER Mashup between the animated series and the movies
Comment by K-Bomb on November 16, 2011 at 9:35am @Gift of the Magi: I love the original intro too, but the Arkham City story is so different from what B:tAS offered that comparison is not the point. I doubt he/she was trying to improve on the original -- instead it looks like someone throwing some massive love/respect to both Batman creations.
And as for Young Justice being all "WRONG," it takes place on Earth-16, so that's why the show operates so strongly outside of standard DC canon. I personally like their takes on most of these characters (though Superboy could tone the growly angst down a lot, and M'gann has thankfully reduced some of her ditziness), and I have fun noting the similarities and differences. And there's nothing wrong in the slightest about the animation and art design.

Oh, I grew up on that, too! Re-runs, at least. Then when the movie came out and the theme popped up. It just demolished any other that had come before it (and will to others after it).
Comment by Gift of the Magi on November 16, 2011 at 1:10am @MavenCree: Video just proves that you can't improve on the original ;-)

Comment by Gift of the Magi on November 15, 2011 at 7:17pm @Rabid Chicken: EVERYTHING about Young Justice is WRONG...just, just WRONG.
Now while I admit that Justice League (both versions) and a few other films and shows had decent theme music, the Elfman Batman theme and the Williams Superman are just fucking AMAZING. Why are they the best? Because you remember them LONG after the film has left the theaters. Hells, just try and tell me you cannot recognize them both within the first few notes of the music. The rest take time to remember.
Now as a fan of fan-films and the genre...this is decent. Not great but decent. The timing on some of the scenes are spot-on as well as the selection of scenes (the clock tower exploding, the Batmobile racing by). Unfortunately, the fight scenes were stilted and clumsy, and there was obvious stutter in at least 3. Also, mixing the game-play and cinematic scenes had a jarring effect that cut into the transition.
So to use the Spill.com rating system, I give it a Rental.
