Throughout San Diego Comic Con, Marvel Studios has been slowly releasing pieces of concept art from their upcoming mega spin-off 'The Avengers'. Combining elements and characters from their previous five films, the artwork has slowly revealed each of the new designs and looks for Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Black Widow, Hawkeye, S.H.I.E.L.D., and finally the most anticipated member, The Hulk. Previously played by Edward Norton, the role was recast for the new film with Mark Ruffalo ('Shutter Island', 'Zodiac') taking over the purple pants, leading to much fan speculation over how he'll look in the film. Well, speculate no more:

It looks like... well, the Hulk. While both previous film incarnations seemed to strive for a stylized version of the not-so-jolly green giant, the concept art looks surprisingly swiped directly from the pages of the comics. In addition, with the final character unveiled, you can now see the complete poster in all it's glory (collectors get ready to salivate):

Directed by Joss Whedon and starring a huge ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Hemsworth, 'The Avengers' arrives in theaters on May 4th, 2012.

This could be absolutely awesome, or less than. Just because a lot of people will judge it more harshly having uber-expectations, it could go either way, but it won't fail. What will be interesting to see is how well they balance the focus on the team members so that people don't walk away and say " Man, I wish they spent more time on that guy. He kinda faded away half way through." I hope Hawkeye and Blackwidow don't get left to being the weak human agents and actually get the chance to pull their weight and shine.     The crosshairs are on you Joss Whedon.

This movie is probably gonna suck. Never trust a movie running off of a gimmick.

I am glad Marvel doesnt own Spiderman, since they would probably just do a safe cheap blockbuster with him. Not that Sony is all that great either.

I'm crazy hyped for this movie too, but I agree with Mike, the fact the Pyms aren't in this is kind of bumming me out. It just ant the Ultimate Avengers without Ant-Man and the Wasp
