As one would expect, inaccurate internet rumors have a very short life expectancy, and this one was killed before I was even aware of it. Apparently it was reported yesterday that Mark Wahlberg was in talks with Michael Bay to appear in 'Transformers 4.' However, before we even had time to make a single "hey bot, howya doin', say hi to ya mother for me" joke, Michael Bay debunked the rumor on his official website. Well, part of the rumor at least...
"The Mark Wahlberg T4 rumor is just a rumor. Mark and I are talking about another film project."
The fact that Mark Wahlberg is not appearing in 'Transformers 4' is great news...for him. On the other hand, we would have benefited greatly from having him aboard, but it would have no doubt been a rather embarrassing addition to his film catalog. The 'Transformers' sequels thus far have been woefully inept and have done a very poor job delivering memorable or even bearable characters. As charismatic and talented an actor as Wahlberg is, I'm not sure he would have been able to pull 'Transformers 4' out of the franchise tailspin that Bay seems unconcerned with correcting. The rumor was not completely false it seems, and now we can begin speculating as to on what other project Wahlberg will be collaborating with Bay. That speculation will inevitably lead to more debunked rumors, but this geeky guessing game is part of what we do. So...'Ninja Turtles?'
What do you guys think? Are you disappointed Mark Wahlberg won't be appearing in 'Transformers 4?' In which in-development Bay project do you think he'll turn up?

Comment by mjtfreeze on October 30, 2012 at 10:52am I would love to see Mark Wahlberg in a Transformers movie, as an older version of Sam/Spike. But only if, it was a reboot, directed by Steven Speilberg or Shawn Levy (Real Steel director).
Comment by SeeBeeL on October 28, 2012 at 12:46pm He needs to do more roles like Dignam in The Departed.
"So Mark, are you going to be in the next Transformers movie?"
"Maybe, maybe not, maybe fuck yourself."
Comment by Ryan Barry on October 25, 2012 at 6:06pm I dont really get how highly yous are rating Whahlberg here, personally I just think hes average in alot of movies, neve really grabs me. But i honestly am not that disappointed hes not in T4, really hope they just focus on the robots this time around
Comment by Microshock on October 25, 2012 at 4:03pm Why wouldn't Mark want to be in Transformers 4? Do any of you "HERPA DERP TRANSFORMERS IS BAD LAWL" idiots know how big of a role that is?
The last movie grossed 1.1 Billion dollars. BUT LAWL ITS GOOD HES NOT IN THAT MOVIE. THAT'D BE TERRIBLE FOR HIM. Money and recognition, so bad.
Comment by I Am Spartacus on October 25, 2012 at 8:30am I would actually go see Ninja Turtles if Wahlberg is brought in as Casey Jones LoL
Comment by Darth_Siskel on October 25, 2012 at 2:10am Yeah, I wouldn't wanna be in this piece of shit either
Comment by Stephen Landry on October 25, 2012 at 1:53am You're big, bright shining robot, Optimus Prime.
Comment by Mst3kFan on October 24, 2012 at 7:47pm This person realizes that T4 would probably be associated with The Terminator, right?
Comment by Happy Birthday Roboto on October 24, 2012 at 7:18pm I can't call wahlberg a loser because of how much money he's made, but when all is said an done, he's an actor who looks the same and has the same voice tone, accent and body movement in every single film that he's in, the most this guy will do is gain a little muscle and change his hairstyle!
CHRISTIAN BALE HE AIN'T!
Comment by Victor P. on October 24, 2012 at 5:54pm Jesus, watch Wahlberg be Casey Jones in the TMNT movie. God help us all.
