If it's crap ... We'll tell you

During an interview with Collider's 'Frosty' Weintraub, 'The Avengers' Mark Ruffalo was asked about being offered a multi-picture deal to keep playing Dr. Banner and his big green alter ego. There have been numerous claims that Ruffalo's Hulk steals the show in Joss Whedon's highly-anticipated superhero team-up, which opens this week. Well it looks like there will be plenty more RuffaHulk in our future as the actor let slip during the interview that he initially signed a six-movie deal. With 'The Avengers' in the books, that leaves him five more cinematic Hulk outings by our count. You can check out the interview below, the telling moment is at 1:25.
So there you have it, straight from The Hulk's mouth. Without giving anything away, I have to say I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that Ruffalo's Hulk is one of the best parts of Joss Whedon's film. I am thrilled to see that he will be taking on the role again, but I wonder if we need that many films featuring Marvel's premier rage monster. I mean, presumably they are planning at least one 'Avengers' sequel, if the early box office is any indication they will definitely be doing a sequel, so we can scratch another off the total number of films, but are we really going to get four Hulk solo films? Even if they worked into his deal the forgone conclusion of two 'Avengers' sequels, three solo Hulk movies still seems excessive, especially given they'd realistically have to do them within, say, ten years before Ruffalo becomes too old to play the part. That's my two cents, now tell me what you think.
Outside of 'Avengers' sequels, how many solo Hulk movies would you like to see? Which of his stories could they tell?

Comment by Spydah on May 2, 2012 at 12:30pm Six movies based around "HULK SMASH!" sounds terribly, terribly boring....
Comment by gamesEnlisted on May 2, 2012 at 11:34am I don't know if they mean every one of his films will be a Hulk or Avengers film. Maybe this means that he will appear in some of the other Marvel Cinematic Universe films as either a co-star or cameo and not just as the star.
Comment by Mind_Cloud on May 2, 2012 at 11:27am Wow... I kinda nervous & excited.
Comment by André on May 2, 2012 at 11:23am @The all father - Totally with you, one of the best or maybe the best part of the film, as bruce banner or as the hulk.
Comment by The All Father on May 2, 2012 at 11:06am Hulk is one of the best things about The Avengers. The Hulk is scary and unpredictable.
Comment by The All Father on May 2, 2012 at 11:02am He's not friendly.
Comment by Richie Vega on May 2, 2012 at 10:59am Avengers was sort of meh for the most part. Very competently done, though.
When watching Hulk's scenes often I found myself wondering how would Ed Norton would have played the role.
Comment by Dilster3000 on May 2, 2012 at 10:31am For the idiots who haven't seen The Avengers yet. Just sit back, relax.. watch that film and be glad that these Hulk movies are being made.
Comment by Darth_Siskel on May 2, 2012 at 10:23am The Hulk is nolonger a fugitive and kinda friendly (from what I see from the trailers). So where they gonna go with this story?
