Mark Ruffalo Signed A Six-Movie Hulk Deal?

During an interview with Collider's 'Frosty' Weintraub, 'The Avengers' Mark Ruffalo was asked about being offered a multi-picture deal to keep playing Dr. Banner and his big green alter ego. There have been numerous claims that Ruffalo's Hulk steals the show in Joss Whedon's highly-anticipated superhero team-up, which opens this week. Well it looks like there will be plenty more RuffaHulk in our future as the actor let slip during the interview that he initially signed a six-movie deal. With 'The Avengers' in the books, that leaves him five more cinematic Hulk outings by our count. You can check out the interview below, the telling moment is at 1:25.

So there you have it, straight from The Hulk's mouth. Without giving anything away, I have to say I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that Ruffalo's Hulk is one of the best parts of Joss Whedon's film. I am thrilled to see that he will be taking on the role again, but I wonder if we need that many films featuring Marvel's premier rage monster. I mean, presumably they are planning at least one 'Avengers' sequel, if the early box office is any indication they will definitely be doing a sequel, so we can scratch another off the total number of films, but are we really going to get four Hulk solo films? Even if they worked into his deal the forgone conclusion of two 'Avengers' sequels, three solo Hulk movies still seems excessive, especially given they'd realistically have to do them within, say, ten years before Ruffalo becomes too old to play the part. That's my two cents, now tell me what you think.

Outside of 'Avengers' sequels, how many solo Hulk movies would you like to see? Which of his stories could they tell?

Makes Sense Hulk is STRONGEST so if one of Our heroes gets in a tight spot against a really tough villain, Call in the Hulk!!!

It certainly doesn't mean he'll star in six feature films. They have an option to use him in any of the Marvel films in any capacity. I believe Samuel Jackson signed for like 9 or 12 which so far most of them are cameos except for The Avengers.

Iron Man 3 cameo appearance  (Just think HulkBuster Ironman vs Hulk)   2 Solo Movies of his Own   Avengers 2  and

Captain America 3  Introucing the Red Hulk  since it follows the super soldier stroy line

I don't think they mean he'll star as a feature actor in six films, it sounds more like he'll appear in six Avengers related films.

Hulk being my favorite character I'm not going to complain if its done right. If they suck then I'll be just as upset as I was when Ang Lee made the green puff marshmallow version BS... I imagine that there will be more than one Avengers sequel....So many villians and so much money to be made...If they are anything like what I've witnessed with the Avengers last week, I'm sure Marvel will milk this series dry.

The challenge with playing the hulk is that your not playing the hulk; 3D modeling and computers are. The real challenge is portraying Bruce Banner in a convincing and memorable way. With that said, Ruffalo doesn’t steal the show from the rest of the cast, he kills it. Ruffalo's interpretation of Bruce Banner appears to be boring and stale by comparison to Edward Norton. Norton made Banner modern and capable of doing whatever it took to make sure he didn’t transform; from learning parkour to evade captors, to practicing meditation techniques to avoid transforming into the HULK. And what does Ruffalo do instead, mug around in business casual somewhere in a South American malaria clinic (see the trailer for reference). If that was Norton's interpretation of Banner, Black widow wouldn't of even of found him there. I was willing to tolerate this for one movie, but six movies. With that said I have yet to see the movie our his interpretation of Bruce Banner. However I nor anyone else should hold their breath.

I am confused by people saying Ruffalo steals the show in The Avengers. Its the HULK that is kicking ass during the climax of the movie. It would've been the exact same whether it be Ruffalo/Norton/Bana. He did pretty decent as Banner himself but there was not enough there to say he stole the show.

My favorite interpretation so far is still Norton. But in this Ruffalo is getting all this praise because he got the better material and a bigger budget for the Hulk to kick a lot of ass.
