Man Finds Valuable Spider-Man Comic In Own Attic

La Grange, Illinois resident George Toman was cleaning out his attic recently when he found a box of old comics he had bought for a few coins back in the 60s. Not knowing what any of the books were worth, he took them to local comic book shop Chimera's Comics. The owners of the shop informed Mr. Toman that one particular book in the box, 'Amazing Fantasy No. 15,' was worth over $10,000. The issue just so happened to be the first appearance of Spider-Man. Had Toman's copy of the book been in mint condition, it could have conceivably gone for well over one million bucks; as did one such issue at auction last year. Why the hell do I only find mothballs and tangled Christmas tree lights in my attic?!

*crickets chirping*    Umm, I'm not sure who was asking, but okay.

$10,000 for a dusty comic?  I don’t know much about the making of comics but if Stan Lee sold his original-drawn comic (kind of like original film negative) for that much money then yeah I might understand that.

I bought the Marvel Masterworks volume 1 book consisting of the first 10 issues of the old Amazing Spider-man comics. That does not smell like carpet and costs only $20.  And anyone of you can buy MORE of these
Marvel Masterworks for a similar price… at Amazon.  Just pointing out the absurdity of this.

So now he's thinking "Why did I have to read it?!"

This is the reason why I go to garage/yard/estate/car port sales.
