This is MAK here and I am going to discuss the one thing that many film fans, moviegoers, and everyday people feel irked and annoyed about and that subject is..............

Yes, 3D, at first, become the new way to experience movies like you never seen before. It would feel like you are exactly in the movie experience, considering 3D has been around since the '60s and it had die down for a while only to be resurrected.  Now there was some 3D movies that gain little popularity since 2003 and was in the growing stage in 2005 and there were successes in those movies but one movie in 2009 made 3D large and for what it is and that movie is..........

Yeah right. It's the one below where you're reading this.

Avatar, the long-awaited project by James Cameron, who started the script and idea since 1994 and has been 12 years since the release of Titanic, was released December 18, 2009 and it had became a thriving success, making over $2,782,275,172 worldwide, taking Titanic over and has remain and probably will (if those 2012 movies) remain the top grossing movie of all-time.

Now, with this, you probably will know since 3D has become huge, studios are thinking of ideas of 3D in the movies and hoping they would get the same success as Avatar and you would they would stay true to the tech and use 3D cameras to film their vision of entertaining movies and all is right with the world, right??

No, instead the Hollywood Executives said fuck it, we'll just film in 2D and just say it's in 3D (meaning convert it to 3D in post-production) to fool the audience into believing they are watching a 3D movie, but then again, it worked before. G-Force was actually in post-production 3D, but the horrible 3D post-conversion award goes directly to most of the movies in 2010.

Alice In Wonderland, Clash of The Titans, The Last Airbender, Cats & Dogs 2, Pirahna 3-D, My Soul to Take, Narnia 3 & Gulliver's Travels are all examples of post-converted 3D bullshit, most of them are very horrible movies--no, wait, all of them are horrible movies and yet while some have the success it didn't deserve, luckily, some gotten the failure it did deserve but in case you wonder why I didn't mention the Dreamworks Animated movies, Despicable Me, Toy Story 3, Step Up 3-D, Jackass 3-D, Saw 3D and any other 3D movie listed? Some of them sucked too, although I like some of those movies, but at least those movies are filmed in 3D.

Especially Tron: Legacy.

At least they didn't just half-assed it, but that doesn't get them off the hook.

However, people have had enough of 3D. With rising ticket prices and considering it is already expensive to go to the movies, most people flock to 2D versions of the movie. But some movies only issued the 3D version, mostly angering the consumer more and plus, the movies in 2011 (at least, early 2011) didn't exactly made 3D any better, at least, financially. The Green Hornet was an underperformer, Gnomeo & Juilet and Justin Beiber: Never Say Never did substantial business but Drive Angry, Mars Needs Moms, Hoodwinked 2 and especially Sanctum -no, wait- James Cameron presents Sanctum all failed at a financial level and those were actually shot in 3D! but then again, they might have sucked.

Meanwhile, some success have come from converted-3D movies in the summer like Thor, Captain America, Harry Potter 7B & (unfortunately) The Smurfs. (I Hate those blue bastards.)

Priest is another story. Same as Green Lantern.

Pirates of The Caribbean 4, Kung Fu Panda 2 & Cars 2 had meager performances (actually filmed in 3D).

Transformers: Dark of the Moon was a hit but with real 3D. This angers many people.

Then came FD5, Spy Kids 4 (in 4D!!), Conan & Fright Night came and went and shutter. Poor Fright Night.

My opinion of 3D is if you going to do it right, DON'T JUST HALF-ASSED OUR MOVIE WITH 3D! 3D has become a wonderful technology to us to experience an new way of watching movies but some people don't really give an shit about abusing the tech too long. If I had it my way, I put the 3D movies in the summer and winter or better yet once or twice an month, not EVERY ANOTHER FUCKING WEEK. I just glad some filmmakers don't always depend on 3D to make a good film. Even Zack Snyder didn't want Sucker Punch to be in post-converted 3D and be lucky it wasn't (it would have been a whole lot worse, way worse).

In short, I would do a 3D movie one day, today.......is not that day.
