Leon is absolutely dead wrong about the style thing. Believe it or not, Madagascar was actually somewhat of a breakthrough in CG animation. The intent of Madagascar's animation was to recreate the toony goodness of the 2-D hand-drawn goodness of Looney Tunes in the CG world. Specifically, Madagascar was the first major CG movie with what they called "stretch and squash" characters for the purpose of slapstick.

As for the movie itself, I felt about this the same way you summarized Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer. That is to say that it's not a movie anyone went to expending "Pixar quality" animation (I put that in quotations because Pixar doesn't have it anymore); I was only expecting to have a good time. And I had a great time. This is the movie in the series where the writers said "Screw it, lets just have fun and go nuts with this." And that's what made it work.

I'd give this a High Matinee, IE: Worth the full price, but just as enjoyable on the small screen.

Saw the movie last Wednesday, and I loved it. If this is the final one, they went out on a high note.

Funniest review in a long time. I love the part when cyrus says co-host sucks to which he replies "fuck you". I want to see this movie.

This was going to be a Matine for me, but after that Katy Perry Firework Circus scene it had to be a Full Price!

I was laughing my butt off at work throughout the entire weekend just thinking about Leon having to mime out the movie to get inside. Guys never forget how much you make this whole community crack up and how much better you make our days with reviews like this.

I'm really glad to hear you guys liked this. However, I'm still going to be hanging my head when that Afro scene comes on.
