Lost Season 5 Review

In my humble opinion
Lost is by far the greatest source entertainment ever created. The great thing about Lost is that it just keeps getting better and better. I found the first 3 seasons of Lost to be great, far superior than any other show on television. Then season 4 came out and it from great to utterly amazing. After season 3 ended with (what I believe to be) the greatest scene in television history , season 4 took the show in a whole new direction which I and many other Losties loved. The sci fi element of the show started to really come up around season 4 especially with the episode
The Constant (one of lost's greatest episodes of all time). Also the shocking ending of season 4. After such a big event happened fans where left questioning what the hell is going on as they had to wait for Season 5.
Season 5
Season 5 of lost was truly an epic masterpiece. Time Travel, Smoke monster, Jacob, The Dharma Intintave, The Hostiles (aka the others) all clevrly plotted in to one season.
Season 6 will be the final season of lost which makes season 5 all the more interesting and important.
The first half of the season starts out with 2 main story lines:
The Oceanic Six
After
The Oceanic Six were rescued they went on to live there lives back in society but all was not well for them as the audience learned through the
flash forwards of season 4. It has been 3 years since they were rescued. We left off with our protagonist
Jack Shephard looking over John Locke's dead body and Benjamin Linus telling him they have to go back to the island, all of them. After this the main plot is about jack and Ben finding the rest of the oceanic six and somehow bring them back to the island.

The Island
The last thing we saw of the island was, well not the island. In the season 4 finale the island disappeared out of thin air after Ben turned the
donkey wheel located under
the orchid. The question is what happened to the people on the island. Well it appears the island is skipping through time, along with the people on it. "Think of the island like a record spinning on a turn table, only now that record is skipping" as said by
Daniel Faraday. This makes for a very interesting plot. We get to travel in time to the islands earlier years and get answers to some of the many mysteries of Lost.

The second half of the season also has 2 main story lines:
The DHARMA Initiative
Eventually Locke turns the same wheel Ben did in the season 4 finale. Locke turning this wheel stops all the time skipping, only problem is they are stuck in the 1970's. Well as luck fate would have it our survivors run into the
DHARMA Initiative and 3 years later they are all working for them. This is a really great plot line because we get to find out so many thing about the DHARMA Initiative. We also get to see a very young
Benjamin Linus. Life seemed to be actually going well for our survivors in the DHARMA Initiative, they had settled down and built a life there. Then along came some of the oceanic six back to the island and shit hit the fan.

2007
When all of the DHARMA Initiative things are happening we also get to see what is happening on the island in 2007. Good old John Locke appears to be back on his feet, Benjamin Linus is plotting and manipulating and poor
Sun just wants to find her husband. We don't see as much of this plot but its is still great. Apparently John Locke is on a mission and is loving life on the island as usual. There is a very powerful episode in which Ben must summon the
Smoke Monster in order to be judged. We get to find out more about
Richard Alpert this season which is very interesting. We also get to see a character many Lost fans have been wanting to see for a long time.

What could of been better
Not too much to say here other than the very poor CGI they had in certain scenes. Nothing too big just one scene with an over view of the island and a plane landing, another scene with a submarine entering water. It's understandable that they have a budget for the show but they could of put more time toward those scenes, when your really into the episode stuff like that pulls you out a bit.

What made this season great
Time Travel
I have to give it up to the
witters. The witting this season was truly amazing. When dealing with time travel it is hard not get several plot holes, but everything fit together beautifully. They tie things in from every season and have you thinking.
Daniel Faraday
Now my personal favorite character of Lost is Benjamin Linus but Daniel Faraday was great this season. Jeremy Davies did such an amazing job acting this character. Every twitch, word and equation that came out of his mouth was just perfection. He was the guy that explained what the hell was going on to everyone.

The Finale
"
The Incident" is the last season finale before the series finale and holly hell was it ever amazing. It has your jaw dropping right from the opening scene all the way to a extremely shocking twist and one hell of a cliffhanger.

My god the next 10 months are going to be very long.
