...Early sunday, feeling good after that nice rest. This has by far been a great week and weekend. Back in early Aug. I heard they were filming a Movie(a remake to Red Dawn, an 80's classic) here in Detroit, MI and were looking for extras, i of course applied asap but didn't hear nothing back for the next month and half. I then got an email that they wanted me and gave me a date for fitting which was monday last week...then following that i received an email as where the shooting would take place and as of what time i needed to be there. There were two scenes they were filming at a Highschool(which was nearby) The first scene was as a new recruit/rebel(they gave me a prop gun and all woooo wooo lol) they filmed a group of us running back and forth by this baseball field as this 09 mustang drove pass with a 50. cal on top of it blasting at the enemy bunker(crazyyyy how loud they are) followed by 2 Humvee which pulled up to the front of the prison camp(which was the high school football field) next scene was one of the last ones in the film where all the P.O.W's charge the fence to escape and two explosions take place as we charge(of course i was a P.O.W.), this was by far the coolest part of the night, i felt like we were really trying to escape the prison camp, one person with an home made American flag ran past, we pressed against the fence while letting the stunt people climb over it,...i think personally i got about 10 seconds on the cam, i also got the chance to play a enemy solider too(that was fun) ...i will know for sure when the movie comes out lol. I gotta say it was a great experience and i met a lot of cool people, fellow extras, actors and even the director. I can say one thing for sure, it wasn't a walk in the park....i worked for almost 18 hours, i came in friday afternoon and we weren't done til the following morning...it paid good though and i got free food to boot :)...and got some moments on film...can't beat that, and as a movie fan....wow it was a dream, i only hope i get the chance to be apart more projects like that in the future.
