Liam Neeson To Kick Further Ass In 'The All Nighter'

When one needs a well-seasoned badass for one's film, one would have to be out of one's tiny little mind to not call Liam Neeson. That fact is certainly not lost on Warner Brothers. Along with Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, WB is producing a film called 'The All Nighter.' The plot revolves around an aging hitman who must take on his former employers over the course of a single night in order to save his wife and son. According to reports, Liam Neeson is in negotiations to play the lead role. 'The All Nighter' is based on a spec script by relative newcomer Brad Ingelsby, who is also rumored to be working on the remake of Indonesian action bombast 'The Raid: Redemption.' The studio loved the script so much that they snatched it up for a reported six figures. No word yet on a finalized deal for Neeson, nor any indication as to who may be directing 'The All Nighter.'

Liam Neeson really does seem to have a very particular set of skills; all of which lead to a pile of bodies on screen. However, let's be real here, the guy's been a badass through practically his whole career. 'Rob Roy,' 'Krull,' 'Next of Kin,' hell I'll even give him props for his part of 'Episode I.' I am really stoked at the idea of a Liam Neeson actioner taking place over one night. The reason 'Taken' worked so well is that it was a completely streamlined action film with no filler and no dead air. It seems that trend will continue in 'The All Nighter,' possibly even take it to the realtime nth degree. My concern with this project, well not so much a concern as a condition of my anticipation, is the vacant director position. While I loved Pierre Morel's 'Taken,' but when Olivier Megaton took over for 'Taken 2,' even Neeson couldn't pull it out of the narrative and editing tailspin. My hope is that the director for 'The All Nighter' will be more Morel and scale back the Megaton.

What do you guys think? Could this be another 'Taken?' Is Neeson still in his prime for these role or is he starting to show his age?

It sounds like Taken 2 1/2.

So Liam is gonna be kicking ass "All Night Long.....All Night....All Night"

I'd be disappointed if that song isn't played

how you gonna talk about the particular set of ass kicking skills that Liam Neeson has acquired over a very long acting career, and not mention his role in Batman Begins as Ra's al Ghul, the man trained BATMAN, which goes above and beyond him training Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode I,

end of geek out

It seems WB saw that re-doing the kidnapped family and father going to the rescues idea to them seems profitable after seeing the numbers of taken 1 and 2. The reason taken 1 did so well was cause it was unexpected and fast paste never leaving you in a scene to long that you don't care about or is boring. It was also well directed Taken 2 sold well cause of the title, and very little concern was focused to the story it basically was taken 2 on steroids. Anyways it would be great if they do something close to the first taken but also some new elements that would spice it up a bit.

So is this the American remake of "Sleepless Night" already or is that one still coming?

Unless the movie has a time counter or other clever ways of telling you what time it is in the movie, not interested.
