Let's Do This! - June 28, 2009 PT. 2
As promised here's the second half of our two part 'Let's Do This!'. In cased you missed the first half it's posted down below, along with more art from our members. This half includes more celebrity death talk, the difference between Billy Mayes and Vince Offer, Mudflap and Skids, a really funny segment about a fried chicken video, and email.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled 'A Couple of Cold Ones' to bring you a very special 'Let's Do This!'.
That's right. So much happened this month that this week's recording went on for a hefty 3 1/2 hours long - lenghty enough to split the show up into two parts. So what could we possibly have talked about for almost four hours? Well, let's see... there's the heat here in Texas, old people who die form the heat, we address the whole racial issue surrounding the Transformers characters Mudflap and Skids, another sad fried chicken video ('Fry that chciken, fry that chicken!'), we cover the recent celebrity deaths of Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, David Carradine, and Billy Mays, and we do much reminiscing about the King of Pop. Just what will be covered in this first half of the show? You'll have to listen and find out. Look for part two this upcoming Wednesday.

On the subject of Cartoon Network's live action shows...I couldn't believe it. A preview for reality shows came on before some of the trailers when I saw Up and it starred that annoying little prick from Role Models. Cartoon Network has no need for reality shows. What happened to the block of classic cartoons on the Tex Avery Show or Acme Hour or just reruns of great Warner Bros. cartoons? Cartoon Cartoon Fridays? Dexter's Lab/Powerpuff Girls/Johnny Bravo before their animation overhauls? Toonami when it was bearable? It's all gone to pot. How much of a ratings grab does Cartoon Network (or this newly dubbed "CN" crap) need to fall back on reality shows? The show "Dude, What Would Happen?" looked and sounds like a poor man's "What Would You Do?" Granted, Nickelodeon hasn't progressed well either in my opinion, but at least, if Legends of the Hidden Temple and Guts are an example of anything, it's that they cared about the quality and fun factor of their live action shows and not just churning out a new program every week.
Cartoon channels have come and gone.

FUCK Cartoon Network and Adult Swim! If they are really hard up on $, then just show classic and awesome reruns! Damn them for canceling Toonami( even through it was overunned with Naruto's gayshit).Are they trying to compete with Disney & Nicks' shit?! To HELL with Adult Swim & there crap too; why are they insist on airing Clone Wars! I grew up with Cartoon Network...FUCK THE NEW CN!

I started to watch that Fry That Chicken video, but I thought it was the Coleman Family Reunion film!!! :) (I'm gonna duck now while Korey finds something heavy to throw at me!)
Seriously, there were not any black people in my town growing up, but the fact that I was French Canadian put me a bit down on the social register. We all lived on the south end of town, except for the lucky few who "made it". Back in the day, we were poor but we didn't know it. Life wasn't as materialistic as it is now. It wasn't instant this or that, exept for Tang and after my Uncle Donald told me they used it to clean dishwashers where he worked I never drank that stuff again...seriously!
Korey loves my family stories...I don't think he believes them but they are all true. I remember as a kid watching the news with my folks during the race riots down in Alabama in the 60's and my mom just staying, "Those poor black people." Granted she'd probably never met a black person in her life but at least she felt bad for what was going on at that time. It was a different time and a different world then now.
