Let's Do This! - June 28, 2009 PT. 2
As promised here's the second half of our two part 'Let's Do This!'. In cased you missed the first half it's posted down below, along with more art from our members. This half includes more celebrity death talk, the difference between Billy Mayes and Vince Offer, Mudflap and Skids, a really funny segment about a fried chicken video, and email.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled 'A Couple of Cold Ones' to bring you a very special 'Let's Do This!'.
That's right. So much happened this month that this week's recording went on for a hefty 3 1/2 hours long - lenghty enough to split the show up into two parts. So what could we possibly have talked about for almost four hours? Well, let's see... there's the heat here in Texas, old people who die form the heat, we address the whole racial issue surrounding the Transformers characters Mudflap and Skids, another sad fried chicken video ('Fry that chciken, fry that chicken!'), we cover the recent celebrity deaths of Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, David Carradine, and Billy Mays, and we do much reminiscing about the King of Pop. Just what will be covered in this first half of the show? You'll have to listen and find out. Look for part two this upcoming Wednesday.

Why they gotta pick on u Korey? It always amazes me the people this site reaches out to but when people don't understand the context of a joke....well, that's their fault.

Bonfire, usually we always do any kind of race humor in reference to something. It was brought up either in conversation, to reference a story, a movie, etc. However, we never come on portraying racial stereotypes out of nowhere. simply for a cheap laugh.
And yes, I'd like for you to tell me how I'm racist against my own people. Also, tell me when I've joked about 'Tyrone spray painting cars' in every episode. I mean give me specific examples, like give me clips or times in several LDT shows.

Kind of feel bad that he had a fucked up childhood.

Comment by bonfire on July 2, 2009 at 3:32pm - korey the movie itself raised issues on stereotypes but you did nothing apart from make a white stereotype. and the same with cyrus. so what profound message were you trying to convey through those stereotypes? and i have already given 2 examples of the black stereotypes you use with regards to the chicken and watermelon references almost every LTD and out of no where making a joke that some gangsta named tyrone was spray-painting vehicles and then doing a similar "jive-talking" accent that you accused transformers of doing. im not defending michael bay but you guys are pointing fingers when you do the same thing.

Jesus, Bonfire, if I have to take you by the hand and spell it out to you then so be it. That 'white nerdy thing' I did in Tropic Thunder was a COMMENT ON STEREOTYPES. The movie movie itself raised the topic of stereotypes with Robert Downey Jr. being in black face, which by the face way I found funny and in no way problematic. Why? Because it was in the context of the story and was handled cleverly. Also, if you go back and look at that review, Cyrus is in black face and does an Uncle Remus black stereotype. Once more, not so offensive because it was in context of proving a point. And in what way am I being 'racist' against my own people?
On second thought, don't answer that question. I feel dumb enough having to explain myself as it is.

- I totally support you Korey, I think you can't really say, and you shouldn't say if something should be offensive or not to someone, what happen is sometimes you are not trying to be offensive and it slips, but you usually can tell when that happen, it doesn't make it alright but at least you can understand that the other person just made a mistake. By the way, that was not the case with Transformers, what happened there was M. Bay is an idiot and that's probably his sense of humour, he must certainly thought that was hilarious. Gansta robots coming out of no where, sure, sure that's brilliant!. And you can't really hope too much from the people out there, there's smart and sounding people of course but there's also a fair share of morons. That's just the truth.
